Interview with Citizens & Saints | All About Worship | Podcasts, Interviews, Music, Resources

Interview with Citizens & Saints | All About Worship | Podcasts, Interviews, Music, Resources | What it takes to be a worship pastor. | Scoop.it
All About Worship's, Glenn Stout, interviews Zach Bolen from Citizens & Saints on their newest album, Join The Triumph, what they've learned through leading worship over the years, and the transition of leaving Mars Hill Church.
Jeremy A's insight:

This article helped me to see how a worship band should act around each other. When Zach Bolen said that the band had little drama because they were close and sharing with each other I realized that any worship band should be doing the same. Instead of being distant and quiet around each other worship band members should be some of the closest friends. A worship band has to unite to bring glory to God and that can’t happen if the singers and the bassists have only had a few short conversations. If I want the band to unite in worship I need to be more outgoing and have more conversations with fellow band members. I also found that the band carrying on even after the Mars Hill breakdown was very uplifting and seeing that God can show through the bad moments really helped me to have faith in God’s plan. This interview was a pleasure to read and seeing that Citizens & Saints will be continuing to create worship music makes me happy and excited to see what they bring to the world.

Why We Love Stories

Why We Love Stories | What it takes to be a worship pastor. | Scoop.it
An Interview with Mike Cosper
Jeremy A's insight:

I really liked when Cosper said that we like stories because in a way our life is a story of birth, fall, redemption, and consummation. I related that to how the bible is about the birth of the world then the fall, the redemption, and finally the consummation. Cosper also said, “I was meant for a perfect world, but born fallen, and condemned by my sins. By God’s grace, Jesus saves me, he sends me on his mission, and one day he’ll return to make all things new.” This was another good example of how our lives are birth, falling to sin, redemption by Jesus, and Jesus returning to make all things new.

Crosswinds Church - Gratitude - by Pastor Ken Schultz

Crosswinds Church - Gratitude - by Pastor Ken Schultz | What it takes to be a worship pastor. | Scoop.it
Romans 1:1-25 - Some see gratitude as an attitude, but it is much deeper than that. True gratitude comes as the creature responds in love and faith to his creator who has given him life, provision, and salvation.
Jeremy A's insight:

I enjoyed listening to this sermon. I liked that Pastor Ken spoke about everything being from God and how he used the analogy of a glass of water being half empty or half full. Whether you see the glass half empty or half full you should be grateful for the water. God gave us that gift and without it positivity or negativity is useless it is the gift that helps us not our attitude about it. I also noticed that he kept leaning towards being grateful for our gifts therefore having positivity about those gifts is just as important as being grateful for those gifts.
