Petition: Amend PIP rules so that mentally disabled adults can get a Blue parking Badge | Welfare, Disability, Politics and People's Right's | Scoop.it
Currently rules on personal independence payments mean that mobility points, which allow people to access a Blue Badge for disabled parking, are allocated on a physical capacity to walk only not mental impairment.
This is demonstrably unrealistic & impacts both people with disabilities and carers.

John Worboys' victims crowdfund for own legal challenge to stop release after Government drops judicial review

John Worboys' victims crowdfund for own legal challenge to stop release after Government drops judicial review | Welfare, Disability, Politics and People's Right's | Scoop.it
Victims of “black cab rapist” John Worboys have vowed to challenge the Parole Board’s decision to release him, after the Government decided to not to seek a judicial review of the ruling.  Lawyers acting for women abused by the sex attacker have already raised almost £30,000 through a crowdfunding page. They said that they will launch proceedings next week.
britishroses's insight:
The laws along with many, many more need to be updated and brought into the 21st century, it's time we started to protect our streets and law abiding people and made sure criminals are punished appropriately and that there's more of a deterrent. As for John Worboys he should never see the light of day again!

A man whose heart stopped beating for almost 10 minutes after he suffered a cardiac arrest has had his disability benefits cut to just £20 a week.  Courts ruled last year that David Coe would risk further deterioration to his health if he was forced to work.  But in October, the 60-year-old from Norwich had his disability support reduced to just £20 a week by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
