Currently rules on personal independence payments mean that mobility points, which allow people to access a Blue Badge for disabled parking, are allocated on a physical capacity to walk only not mental impairment.
This is demonstrably unrealistic & impacts both people with disabilities and carers.

People with hidden disabilities could soon be entitled to blue badge parking permits under Department for Transport (DfT) plans. The Government said the proposals would make it easier for people with conditions such as dementia and autism to travel to work, socialise and access shops and services in England. It is hoped the move - which would be the biggest change to the blue badge scheme since it was introduced in 1970 - would help create parity in the treatment of physical and mental health.

Victims of “black cab rapist” John Worboys have vowed to challenge the Parole Board’s decision to release him, after the Government decided to not to seek a judicial review of the ruling.  Lawyers acting for women abused by the sex attacker have already raised almost £30,000 through a crowdfunding page. They said that they will launch proceedings next week.
britishroses's insight:
The laws along with many, many more need to be updated and brought into the 21st century, it's time we started to protect our streets and law abiding people and made sure criminals are punished appropriately and that there's more of a deterrent. As for John Worboys he should never see the light of day again!

Tax credit claimants who suffered as the result of a botched outsourcing plan have been paid just £14 each in compensation each, it has emerged. Scandal-hit Concentrix adjusted or terminated around 108,000 cases of claimants' tax credits - nearly a third of which were overturned at appeal. HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) ended its deal with the contractor after a series of problems came to light.
