Petition: Amend PIP rules so that mentally disabled adults can get a Blue parking Badge | Welfare, Disability, Politics and People's Right's | Scoop.it
Currently rules on personal independence payments mean that mobility points, which allow people to access a Blue Badge for disabled parking, are allocated on a physical capacity to walk only not mental impairment.
This is demonstrably unrealistic & impacts both people with disabilities and carers.

EU finance chief says rich tax avoiders are 'vampires'

EU finance chief says rich tax avoiders are 'vampires' | Welfare, Disability, Politics and People's Right's | Scoop.it
The European Union’s finance chief has slammed wealthy “vampires” who use tax avoidance schemes of the kind detailed in the Paradise Papers. Pierre Moscovici said that many of the schemes revealed in the latest leak about offshore tax avoidance were “legal” and that meant that the law should be changed. Mr Moscovici is backing three EU-wide policies aimed at stopping tax avoidance: a blacklist of global tax havens backed by sanctions; new transparency rules for tax intermediaries, bankers, and lawyers; and mandatory country-by-country reporting for profits.

Sadiq Khan just called on Boris Johnson to resign

Sadiq Khan just called on Boris Johnson to resign | Welfare, Disability, Politics and People's Right's | Scoop.it
Sadiq Khan has joined Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn in calling for Theresa May to sack the Foreign Secretary, Boris Johnson. The London Mayor said Mr Johnson had not performed his "first duty" in the role, which is diplomacy. More follows…
britishroses's insight:
Boris is incompetent and that has been made very clear by the unforgivable screw up he made that could cost Nazanin 5 more years of her life in an Iranian prison; 5 more years away from her daughter, husband and parents, he should have clearly and firmly and with executive authority immediately apologised for getting it wrong and set it right! What has he done since been foreign secretary for Nazanin, I'd like to know? It is pitiful if the best we have to put in any position in government is the likes of Boris Johnson and anyone who makes excuses or attempts to deflect the seriousness of what he has done is no better then he is, his incompetence could mean a little girl will grow up without her mother for 1 to many days!
