When I started to lose weight I felt rotten and below par, I subsequently worked out this was because the diet I was on did not give me the nutrients I needed to stay healthy; too many foods were cut form the diet.

On often forgotten key to good health is adequate sleep.  Many studies have shown sleep deprivation and off-kilter circadian rhythms can cause weight gain, unbalanced cortisol levels and stress.  So along with your healthy diet, exercise and lifestyle, don't include to make time for restorative sleep.  Recent studies suggest 7-8 hours per night are ideal,  Less, or more, are associated with increased mortality rates in epidemiologic studies.
