Psychology - Social Psychology practicals No 1 – “Is this ‘your’ type of music?”

Psychology - Social Psychology practicals No 1 – “Is this ‘your’ type of music?” | Weekly news: 16.01 | Scoop.it

Social Psychology looks at how far our behaviour is influenced by others around us, either those we are in direct contact with, such as our family and friends, or more generally in the influence of society or culture. As part of their studies into Social Psychology, Yr 12 students have to conduct their own practical, which for this unit is a survey. The Issue of Kindles | Nottingham High School Library

The Issue of Kindles | Nottingham High School Library | Weekly news: 16.01 | Scoop.it

Some of my local School Library colleagues already have some Kindles in their libraries and the issue is a frequent topic of discussion as we review the pros and cons for spending such a large amount of money on a technology with limited application, already facilitated in the main by a medium almost as old as the message itself; the book. Friday 13th January 2012 | Nottingham High Junior School Head's Blog | Weekly news: 16.01 | Scoop.it

Welcome to 3W Class Blog » Chinese New Year in Taiwan

Welcome to 3W Class Blog » Chinese New Year in Taiwan | Weekly news: 16.01 | Scoop.it

3W and 3s had a super start to the week with a visit from Mrs Chang, William’s mum. We learnt all about how Taiwanese people celebrate Chinese New Year. We found out why fire crackers are used and why the colour red is important.

Mrs Chang made delicious dumplings for us all to try and we all hoped we would be the lucky one and find the coin hidden in our dumpling.

Kindle – nearly ace | The English Department's Blog

Kindle – nearly ace | The English Department's Blog | Weekly news: 16.01 | Scoop.it

I’ve had a Kindle for several months now, and I think it’s marvellous. True, it’s nowhere near as satisfying as reading a really well-made book, but for practical reading (research and so on), it’s very nearly ace.

Year 1 Nature Tally! | Lovell House Blog

Year 1 Nature Tally! | Lovell House Blog | Weekly news: 16.01 | Scoop.it
Today the Year 1 boys enjoyed a visit to The Arboretum Park, where we hoped to spot some British wildlife. Firstly, the boys thought about which animals we would be likely to see on our trip. Some of their suggestions were very optimistic!
On our journey around the park we kept a tally of every animal we saw, recording each of the animals on our list. The boys had a hard time recording the amount of birds that were flying about!
