Ashley Nicole's insight:

Arise Music Fest goes beyond big stage productions and flashing lights. Along with it's headliners, Arise promotes a family atmosphere and offers herbal workshops, yoga classes, film viewings, art installations, and social opportunities with environmental activists. This isn't the first festival to incorporate good deeds and positive community vibes. In fact, music festivals ridden with passionate, inspirational people are on the rise. Wanderlust and Forecastle Festival are among the first to come to mind when I think of festivals with a reputation for being socially, culturally, and environmentally active.

PayPal Uses Music Festivals to Push Mobile App | Industry News - The Positive Aspect of Music Festivals | Scoop.it
No matter how technology-consumed our world becomes, cash is still the ruler of the economy. Physical, in-your-wallet bills are the thing you’re supposed to be able to count on, to use whenever you choose. In fact, while some places only accept certain credit cards (if they do at all), cash [...]
Ashley Nicole's insight:

This year music festivals are being used as a vehicle to advance our society into a cash-less, wallet-less era. At most fests, keeping cash on your person is a nuisance. PayPal has taken an initiative in solving this issue - as well as using these venues to catapult the world into the future of not having to carry around bulky wallets - by developing an app that allows users to pay with their phones instead of digging around for dollar bills in our pockets. Unity Christian Music Festival crowd turns out for music's 'amazing message ...
The Muskegon Chronicle
MUSKEGON, MI — Despite having to work all week, Christine Morse made it her mission to attend the Unity Christian Music Festival each day.
Ashley Nicole's insight:

I chose to Scoop this article to show that there are other genre's of music festivals in existence in the world. When most people hear "music festival" they tend to think of the popular festivals like Coachella and Lollapolooza and the growing EDM festivals such as Ultra Music Fest, Electric Daisy Carnival, and TomorrowWorld. The EDM festivals have been getting a bad rap lately. People are choosing to focus on the drug use and overdoses happening. However, there is more in the world of live music than just strobe lights, fantastical DJs, and drug overdoses. Events like the Unity Christian Festival showcase a family environment that is able to bring together music lovers of all ages and walks of life.

Researchers state that festivals create a positivity that flows through attendees and continues to impact them after the festival has ended. Having experienced festival life firsthand, I agree that these live events are a good time that foster social acceptance, self exploration, and positive outlooks.
