ESL Discussions: English Conversation Questions

ESL Discussions: English Conversation Questions | Websites | Scoop.it
13,420 discussion and conversation questions for speaking practice. 671 FREE ESL lesson plans, handouts, worksheets and downloads. Controversial and mainstream topics.
Our Team's insight:

These discussion questions are a great thing for ESL teachers who want to get students talking.  Be aware, one should usually spend a few minutes editing the questions to make certain that your students are asking only the best questions.

The first discussion question on many of these worksheets is "What springs to mind when you hear the phrase ________________?"  This is a challenging question for English language learners, so teachers must take the time to pre-teach this question and possible answers.

One possible way of using these lists of questions would be as a digital literacy exercise in which students used a search engine along with their existing knowledge to try to answer each question on the sheet.
