The Future Of SEO in a Socially Driven World

The Future Of SEO in a Socially Driven World | #eHealthPromotion, #SaluteSocial | Scoop.it

If SEO is dead, social media will be, too, in another five years.

In today’s search world, there’s a lot of talk about how social is “taking over,” how “content is king,” and how search engine optimization is “dead” – with search updates like Penguin and Panda hitting the final nails on the coffin. Sounds very dramatic, doesn’t it?

Yes, social is more significant than ever. But, it is too early to draw any conclusions about the death of SEO based on the patterns that we’re seeing. If anything, what we’re seeing today are the after effects of a healthy transition.

Definition of Health 2.0 and Medicine 2.0: A Systematic Review | #eHealthPromotion, #SaluteSocial | Scoop.it
Results: We found a total of 1937 articles, 533 in scientific databases and 1404 in the gray literature. We selected 46 unique definitions for further analysis and identified 7 main topics.
Conclusions: Health 2.0/Medicine 2.0 are still developing areas. Many articles concerning this subject were found, primarily on the Internet. However, there is still no general consensus regarding the definition of Health 2.0/Medicine 2.0. We hope that this study will contribute to building the concept of Health 2.0/Medicine 2.0 and facilitate discussion and further research.

Gamification vs. Health Gaming? You Decide. - Makovsky

Gamification vs. Health Gaming? You Decide. - Makovsky | #eHealthPromotion, #SaluteSocial | Scoop.it

Today, the advance of social and digital technologies, as well as the convergence of social software, mobile devices and data analytics, has led many organizations to pursue new strategies to connect with and educate consumers. More than ever, these organizations use gamification – the process of using game-related dynamics and thinking on apps and social networks to influence and reward behavior.

Gamification often consists of tools that leverage a person's desire for achievement, recognition, reward, status and self-expression. These elements of desire are then incorporated into social websites and apps such as Foursquare, Weight Watchers and Nike+ that rely on badges and point systems to reward consumers for their actions, while also driving engagement and tracking data.

In fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem, “Chilecon Valley” has also begun to form smaller sub-ecosystems. One that is just beginning to emerge is digital health, the intertwining of technology and healthcare with the purpose of bettering the world around us. Digital health encompasses EMR, Telehealth, mobile health, fitness and nutrition enhancement, and perhaps most importantly (maybe I am biased) the fostering of a closer doctor to patient relationship.

Analyzing health organizations' use of Twitter for promoting health literacy.

Abstract

This study explored health-related organizations' use of Twitter in delivering health literacy messages. A content analysis of 571 tweets from health-related organizations revealed that the organizations' tweets were often quoted or retweeted by other Twitter users. Nonprofit organizations and community groups had more tweets about health literacy than did other types of health-related organizations examined, including health business corporations, educational institutions, and government agencies. Tweets on health literacy topics focused predominantly on using simple language rather than complicated language. The results suggest that health organizations need a more strategic approach to managing positive organizational self-presentations in order to create an optimal level of exposure on social networking sites.

Identifying Influencers - Makovsky

Identifying Influencers - Makovsky | #eHealthPromotion, #SaluteSocial | Scoop.it

Earlier this week a client asked me how we go about identifying the right influencers – those active, connected individuals who amplify messages and calls-to-action to their networks. Do we mine data from every social network and then review before engaging? And if so, what is that data exactly? A number? A topic of interest? Do we use Klout?
