SchoolNet SA - IT's a Great Idea: YouTube for Schools is introduced

First there was YouTube, then came YouTube for Educators, and now we have YouTube for Schools. Things are definitely getting better for education. I think many parents will be happier knowing there is a YouTube that is just for schools. If you have access to a data projector or an interactive whiteboard in your classroom, an occasional YouTube clip can really bring home a concept to your students.

SchoolNet SA - IT's a Great Idea: Incorporate Screencasting into your lesson plans | Professional development resources | Scoop.it

A few months ago I decided to use screencasting more in lessons. The first programme I tried was Jing. I actually liked it so much that I took out the pro membership which was very cheap but gave more benefits. Then I discovered Screenr which seems to have all the benefits of Jing pro as well, although it is free.

This free e-book on Mobile Learning, written by Jackie Gerstein (@jackiegerstein, https://usergeneratededucation.wordpress.com/), was brought to my attention by a post on the Free Technology for Teachers blog. It could be a great read for South African teachers where students frequently have cell phones that could be tapped into because other technology resources are non-existent. Take a read to see if it could benefit you. You’ll find eighty pages of useful information. You can also download your own copy of this free book by clicking here:
