"The US mainstream media echoed loudly the US government’s denial of any law-enforcement immunity deal existing with Zambada Niebla via a barrage of reports published in recent days, but those same reports are completely silent on the CIPA pleadings that were lodged with the court at the same time as the government’s denials."

"CIPA, enacted some 30 years ago, is designed to keep a lid on the public disclosure in criminal cases of classified materials, such as those associated with CIA operations."

Civil activists that use Facebook, Twitter, and other forums are not only hunted by the drug cartels but also punished by the government.

On september two persons (math tutor and a grandmother) were sent to jail because they denounced in Twitter about a dangerous situation going on in the city, and according to the government they created panic.

They might be facing 30 years in prison.

Though it might seem like a misuse of Twitter, it is the only way that most people have to send mass messages and save lives. And a lot of times, it does.
