Voluntary Work Opportunities in Sport
You may have already done some work experience at school, but doing a further placement while you’re at college or university can be useful in your career planning. Getting some hands-on experience in the workplace can really improve your chances when applying for courses or jobs.

In its simplest form volunteering is about giving your time to do something useful, without getting paid and in return getting the satisfaction of time and effort well spent.

Volunteering can be a great way to meet new people, learn new skills, gain useful experience and have fun. The range of opportunities is huge, whatever skills and experience you have, there is something that you can do. Voluntary Action LeicesterShire (VAL) provides services to the County of Leicestershire and Volunteering Advisors are working across the City and County to help you on your way to volunteer.

So, instead of digging out your old trainers to drag yourself down the gym try something new and make a difference in 2010.

For more information on volunteering contact the VAL Helpline on 0116 257 5050 or visit www.do-it.org.uk to find the latest opportunities.
