The CVA is recruiting an Executive Director. Deadline: Friday, 23 February 2018

The CVA is Canada’s premier competency-based training organization specializing in DACUM training both nationally and internationally.

The CVA is seeking a leader who will further grow the CVA as a self sustaining, not-for-profit national organization with strong international links.

Currently, the position would require a self-starting individual working part time with a current staff of three, all working part-time from home offices. Our preferred candidate would be a retired or soon to be retired management or academic executive, motivated by the CVA mandate, challenge and cognizant of the organization’s limited resources.

 If you see yourself as an experienced organization builder, a communicator and a person who wants to be a major voice for competency-based and DACUM training, the complete CVA Executive Director Job Description, List of Qualifications and Employment Terms and Conditions can be viewed here http://cva-acfp.org/the-cva-is-recruiting-an-executive-director/. ;

If you are interested in this position, you are required to forward the following documents by email to Pierre Morin, President of the CVA (pmforminc@gmail.com), no later than Friday, 23 February 2018 at 16h30 (ET):

-  A letter (not to exceed 400 words) highlighting the considerations that make your candidacy particularly appealing and relevant;

- Your curriculum vitae.

Aging employees may be a blessing, not a curse

Aging employees may be a blessing, not a curse | Vocational education and training - VET | Scoop.it
Aging is ubiquitous; that’s why leaders must consider longevity strategies in their organizational plans.

Consider age a blessing, not a curse. Western culture fears aging; witness anti-aging products, serums and supplements to make us look and feel younger. Eastern and Indigenous cultures greatly respect and value their elders and look forward to achieving status in their familial tribe. Westerners need a drastic wake-up call. Aging is not a disability and it will happen to all of us. We need to appreciate the gifts and talents of each age.

World Youth Skills Day 2018 - Improving the image of TVET

World Youth Skills Day 2018 - Improving the image of TVET | Vocational education and training - VET | Scoop.it

Pervasive unemployment, underemployment and longer school- to work- transitions, are some of the most significant challenges confronting the youth around the world. These challenges are not just a result of the lack of adequate professional opportunities for the youth, but also skills imbalances, i.e. shortages, surpluses and mismatch of skills acquired with those required by the world of work. Apart from policy responses to promote job creation for the youth, investing in the skills development for employability and improved capacity of the youth for life-long learning is a critical requirement for an inclusive and equitable future!
