MotionSavvy’s first product, though still in prototype stage, could revolutionize the prospects of millions who are deaf or hard of hearing. Called Uni, the device clasps around a PC tablet and uses MotionSavvy software to act as an interpreter between a signer (who can’t speak) and speaker (who can’t understand sign language) in very-close-to-real-time.

Jed Fisher's insight:

Fantastic focused use case for Leap Motion's hardware and technology. This is what it's all about - taking some brilliant piece of technology and finding a market in need, then tweaking them and bringing them together.

SpaceX - The Future of Design

"SpaceX is exploring methods for engineers to accelerate their workflow by designing more directly in 3D. We are integrating breakthroughs in sensor and visualization technologies to view and modify designs more naturally and efficiently than we could using purely 2D tools. We are just beginning, but eventually hope to build the fastest route between the idea of a rocket and the reality of the factory floor. Special thanks to Leap Motion, Siemens and Oculus VR, as well as NVIDIA, Projection Design, Provision, and to everyone enabling and challenging the world to interact with technology in exciting new ways."

The Leap Motion Controller Is About to Get a Whole Lot Better (we hope)

The Leap Motion Controller Is About to Get a Whole Lot Better (we hope) | 4D Pipeline - trends & breaking news in Visualization, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, 3D, Mobile, and CAD. | Scoop.it
The Leap Motion controller has always looked awesome, but its performance didn't quite live up to the promise. A software update is about to fix that, making every Leap Motion controller out there better in an instant.
Jed Fisher's insight:

Long time readers will remember my early Leap Motion scoops.

Leap raised a ton of money, promised a lot, but surprise surprise didnt really live up to the hype.

They've made some improvements and once again the videos look great. I'm yet to try this new update. I'm hopeful.
Would love to hear from anyone who has used it first hand.
