Cool!  I'm an English teacher, and anything that helps to promote literacy and exposure to new and interesting texts gets an A in my book.

Tina Jameson's curator insight, February 5, 2015 5:57 PM

Choose a theme - choose a discussion question - choose a text.

Open-source resources offering a great range for primary through to year 12 students.

Patricia Daniels's curator insight, February 11, 2015 9:07 AM

These texts can be downloaded and are aimed at varying literacy levels. The topics are broad and can be used to promote critical thinking. In an ELT context they could be used to form the basis of discussions. The text worksheets also contain questions to encourage reflection and debate.

So Why Learn English: A personal view from Brazil

So Why Learn English: A personal view from Brazil | visual literacy | Scoop.it

In the last 2 years I have interviewed over 100 candidates in Brazil, all of which were in English because no other language unites an international company like ours. Only 40% of these candidates were fluent in English and the rest didn’t even make it past the 1st round even though they had excellent experience.

The Rice Process's curator insight, November 24, 2014 8:22 AM

infographics present the greatest opportunity to increase the effectiveness of what is being taught. Designing visual representation of information is more than translating words to pictorials.  The construction involves filtering the information, drawing relationships, revealing patterns and representing the information as meaningful content.
