70 Million by Hold Your Horses

Official music video of 70 Millions by Hold Your Horses ! www.myspace.com/holdyourhorsesparis http://itunes.apple.com/fr/album/hold-your-horses-ep/id35007294...
Kristina Arnost's insight:

This music video by the band Hold Your Horses is a great introduction to art history. It is an interesting, comical video which keeps the students entertained while they also recognise famous paintings throughout. This could be a useful tool at the beginning of the semester when the teacher is figuring out what knowledge the students have about art history. They can be asked to identify as many artworks/artists/movements that they can and this will indicate what they have previously been taught and what they have retained.

Australian Rock Art

Australian Rock Art | Visual Art | Scoop.it
Australia has one of the most outstanding and diverse rock art records in the world. Rock art consists of paintings, drawings, stencils, engravings, bas-relief and figures made with the wax of native bees.
Kristina Arnost's insight:

Google Art project is an incredible resource for students AND teachers. There is an extensive collection of prominent artworks from all over the world. These pieces have been photographed in extremely high quality so that the class can view the brush strokes and techniques used by the artist by zooming in to the image.

This Austalian Rock Art collection demonstrates the artistic techniques used by Indigenous Australians and their perceptions of the landscape around them.

When was this artwork created? How can you tell?

What is the meaning of the artwork? Why/ what aspects of this artwork support this?
