During the weeks researching this topic there has been a couple of big announcements. Sony has finally confirmed that it will be releasing a VR headset for the Playstation 4 and the Oculas Rift seems to be getting very close to being released also. It is an exciting time for VR and I can't wait to see where it leads.

Yet another great story about Virtual Reality programs being used to help people. In this article they are using the technology to help autistic people to recognize facial expressions. I think that Virtual Reality is going to play a major part in helping with many different medical conditions in the next 5 - 10 years.

Ford has been using Virtual Reality to look at the design of their vehicles and how the inside and outside would look under different environment and light conditions. This allows them to save an considerable amount of money and still get all the information that they need in order to complete their research. I see many companies embracing Virtual Reality technology over the next 5 - 10 years to cut costs and still deliver a great product.

Education is one area in which I think would be benefited greatly by Virtual Reality technology. This Scoop talks about using VR to simulate field trips for school children. As these trips can be quite expensive, VR would allow the children to go anywhere in the world for a fraction of the price.

This article covers the importance that virtual reality could have on teaching students as visual examples are often a better way for students to learn. While it obviously isn't as effective as the real thing, it is close to it and has lower costs.

An exciting video that talks about the possible future of Virtual Reality. Although they are saying that the initial use of the technology will be mainly used for entertainment purposes such as video games. There is the possibility of VR moving over to film, medicine, science, and even education. As the technology gets better and cheaper it will eventually become a lot more mainstream.

I did not want to just focus on video games, rather find out about all the different ways this technology can be used to enhance society and quality of life. Relieving amputees from phantom pain in their missing limbs is a great use of the technology.

In this video they talk about how Virtual Reality games could impact society. When I think of Virtual Reality, the first thing that comes to my mind is video games. This video not only shows the technology being used for entertainment, but also for experiments on peoples behavior. In the video they said that Virtual Reality can have a deep and long lasting effect on behavior, which I think it true.
