Since 1934, the Export-Import Bank of the United States (Exim Bank) has provided export guidance, assistance, and support to United States exporters, manufacturers, and small-business owners.

Over the course of its 78 year history, Exim Bank’s loan loss rate has remained below 2%. Currently, its loan loss reserve account holds more than $4 billion to cover borrowers’ unpaid debt. Each year, legitimate claims are filed but instances of fraud still surface.

From May 1st through the 17th, the National Small Business Association (NSBA) and the Small Business Exporters Association (SBEA) surveyed over 500 small business owners online. Every industry and every state in the nation were represented.

41% of Small Business Exporters report concern over payment as their greatest exporting challenge. 22% have never heard of Exim Bank. 35% report that access to export financing has become more difficult over the years; only 2% report it being less difficult.
