Taylor Roy's insight:

Being prepared to enter your company into the social media world is very important. You must have all the tools in place before implementing all of the aspects of a marketing campaign. First step is to assess where your company is currently. Ask yourself questions like how are your current platforms benefitting you? And do you need to add more platforms to be viewed over a larger spectrum? Next is to evaluate the strategy at hand. What will help market the product to the proper target audience? Then is is necessary that the company's profiles are complete, and portray the proper information. This information must also be interacted with on all platforms. It doesn't help a company if the information is just being looked at. It is the interaction and commenting on the content that creates a buzz.

How to Convince Your Boss to Invest in Social Media Marketing | Unfamiliar with Social Media | Scoop.it
Want to convince your boss social media marketing is essential to your overall marketing success? Read this post for some helpful tips on how to change their mind.
Taylor Roy's insight:

If they are shown the progressions of other companies using social media, they will be able to compare themselves, and see that they are behind in their efforts. Even if some competitors are not using social media, it cannot hurt to be the first one to start. The competitors will then look at your company and see that they are now behind. I found the interesting statistic that 23% of marketers invested in blogs and social media during 2013, up from 9% in 2012. That is a very large percentage in just 1 short year, and I believe that it will increase next year as well.
