Employees at Good Technology, once valued at $1.1 billion, found their shares made practically worthless by a sale to BlackBerry for $425 million.

This article on the surface is about the value of a privately held company and what can happen to those who take stock in the company before it goes public.   However it relates to wireless as it was once one of the high flyers in mobile management.   It appears the whole group is under pressure...Take a look at Mobile Iron's share price as of today it was under $4 a share after IPOing at around $10 a year and a half ago.   Blackberry the buyer of Good, however has had a significant uptick since the announcement to buy Good.

This is interesting in light of T-Mobile actively promoting their data plan that now exempts certain content providers from counting towards customer's monthly data usage.    Could this be an issue that goes against net neutrality?   More important to all of us consumers will this effect T-Mobile plans in the future.   Something interesting to watch...

Using street lights to house wireless infrastructure is genius.   Could be a nice solution to increase coverage of short distance wireless technologies without adding to the clutter of towers and the like.

It would appear that YouTube does not qualify for T-Mobile's unlimited data for select video services.  Also interesting and worth noting is this article claims that in order for the video service to qualify for the waiving of data fees the service provider must deliver video at lower quality in exchange for the waiving of the fees to the T-Mobile customers.   If the unlimited video data is a reason you are thinking of T-Mobile be sure to demo it first.

We are in Shenzhen, China celebrating Honor's 2-year anniversary, but they couldn't just break a piñata, eat some cake and call it a day. Instead they are celebrating with a CES teaser!

Looks like Huawei is coming to America.   The well known network equipment manufacturer in the Asian markets is rumored to be rolling out its Honor branded smartphone in the USA at the CES 2016 show.   Perhaps filling an opportunity that is opening as HTC seems to be fading.
