I can see the headline in a few hundred years, when they have proven telepathy and the reasons behind it: ‘Man divorces wife for thinking about leaving him’. Or ‘Government jails citizen for thinking about committing a crime’.
Tim Heathcote's insight:

Recommend interested readers to investigate research 'mind control' and then perhaps see if you can identify those organisations and individuals who have callously used it for their own ends in the past.

Ilive in a two bedroom apartment in a suburb of Portland, Oregon. One afternoon, on returning from the store with an armload of groceries, I started the usual ritual of unlocking my front door. There is a deadbolt above, and a key lock in the knob beneath it, and I keep the key, which fits both, on a lanyard around my neck. I had turned the deadbolt, and before I could remove the key and insert it in the knob beneath, the knob turned first left, then right, as it would if someone were unlocking and opening the door from the inside. Thinking that my neighbor John, who has a key, had come over to finish some work he had begun on the previous day, I expected to see him when I pushed the door open. There was no one on the other side of the door... But the atmosphere was electric and there was a strong impression that someone had just been there. I called out but received no answer.

Putting down the bags of groceries, I immediately went to the phone and dialed John's number. To my great surprise, he answered, and I asked him to come over quickly and help me search for a possible intruder. I want to make it clear at this point that the front door, near which I was standing the entire time, was the only way in or out of the apartment, as the back door to the patio and adjacent parking lot had been temporarily blocked. John arrived about a minute later, and together we searched the premises: every nook, cranny, and corner... But there was no sign of an intruder or anyone else to be found anywhere.

It is most likely only a coincidence, but I learned, several months later, that a previous tenant, an elderly lady known for her helpful nature and numerous kindnesses toward her neighbors, had passed away in the apartment about a decade before I moved in.

Tim Heathcote's insight:

Interfering with door locks is a feature in Karen's story but the most disconcerting was when John and I observed the door handle in my motor home moving down. Nobody was on the outside. Tim

Perhaps this is nothing. Three years ago I moved in with my boyfriend to his small appartment outside the city. As the city was growing there were a lot of empty appartments in our building so when we started thinking about buying instead of renting, we decided to move in to the city (we didn't like the quiet ambiance).

Really soon after I moved to that appartment I started feeling there was something in the hallway. I tried telling my boyfriend but he didn't believe me.

If you gave one step out of the bedroom you would find yourself at the end of a corridor with the living room door infront of you. Another step and you would have entered the living room. Well, the thing is, after giving just one step, if you looked with the corner of your eye you could see a little girl standing almost at the other end of the corridor and she was like dancing (or moving, not really sure). If you turned your head completely to take a better look, she was gone.

I would say, by her height, that she must have been 10 years old.

I grew more afraid of open doors, so at night when we were going to bed, I could never sleep if I knew the bedroom door was open. I was always afraid of her getting into the room.

When my boyfriend, now my husband, and I got married we decided to finally move to the city. When we did we went to register our new address at the City Hall. When we did they asked us where we used to live and we gave the guy the address, then he said the most amazing thing: "so you two are moving to the city but not the little girl?"

- Which little girl? - my husband asked. The guy said there was a little girl living with us according to his records. We asked for the name but he noticed we had no idea who she was so he said he shouldn't disclose information.

Like I said, perhaps this is nothing. It could explain what I saw in the corridor, but it also could mean the girl moved out and she didn't register her new address ever since, but she should because its needed for school paperwork. Whatever it was I hope you have enjoyed the story.

So if you have read my previous story you should have an outline of what we have been living with for the past 17 years. This is a more detailed event that happened around the time I was 13 and been living in the house for 3 years or so.

My mom and dad have been divorced for a very long time and every month he brought over the maintenance money. The one day he brought it over on a Friday afternoon, he gave the money to my grandmother as no one else was home at that time. My grandmother proceeded to put it in my mom's bedside drawer. When my mom got home that afternoon she sat us down to give us a surprise, she said that if we pack our clothes and get ready we can go to the farm for the weekend. After that my gran told my mom where she put the money.

My mom went to her room to get the money. But surprise surprise the money was not in there anymore. My mom rounded everyone in the house to start a hunt for the money as my gran was adamant that the money was put in her bedside drawer. We searched everywhere in the house, in the kitchen drawers, the dustbins, we emptied every drawer and cupboard in that house. The money was gone and due to this fact my mom told us we can't go to the farm anymore because that money was the spending money for groceries, spending, and petrol. And seeing as it was gone so was the holiday.

I woke up early on the Saturday morning, and proceeded to get dressed brush my teeth and just the general things you do in the morning. When I walked into my moms room (as this is where all hair accessories were stored) to brush my hair, I opened the drawer to get out my hair band and brush, there lying in the drawer was the money, all of it, on my brush. I woke my mom up and told her I found the money and that we can leave for the farm.

Now that drawer was checked about 15 times for the money and it was not in there the previous night. And I must point out that it was not found in the drawer were my gran said she put it. We ended up going to the farm and it was great as always.

But we all know it was Sarel who took the money, he is constantly hiding things especially when you need a particular thing urgently.

Will post more Sarel stories soon!

Hope you enjoyed it!

My story  - 'Help! Love Karen also contains some of the same elements such as theft of money and items from a drawer only to have them returned at a later date. This drawer was also the site of other historical apports.  / Tim Heathcote

This incident happened on the night of 24 July 2012.

I had been hospitalized with Bronco Pneumonia and ended up in a ward with, at that point, 4 other ladies. As you enter the ward you have a total of six beds. Three on the left and three on the right. I was given the last bed on the left. In the middle lay, Elaine, who I became friends with during that week. I never found out who the lady next to her was because she was gone the next morning. Across from me lay the sweetest little old Lady, named Louise. I liked her very much. The bed next to her was empty and there was a lady who appeared to be late 20\'s to begin 30\'s in the last bed.

When I was shown to my bed, the nurse checked the remote to make sure it was in working order. As it turned out, the new-fangled electronic bed wasn\'t functioning, so she took the bed next to the little old lady and replaced it with the one that wasn\'t working. This was a normal, manually adjusting hospital bed. I went through the pages upon pages of questions they had, signed all the necessary forms, had seen the doctor and eventually had my drip in and could rest. I did not speak to anyone during that first day. That evening my parents brought my kids to visit, and, thanks to my dad, Elaine got pulled into the conversation. When my family had left, Elaine and I kept chatting, becoming friends quite fast. We were up and chatting until after 11:00PM when we finally went to sleep. I struggled to settle down, my chest was painful and I struggled to breathe properly.

I had a dream about the exact ward we were in, but I knew that things were not right because suddenly, there was an exceptionally angry man in the bed next to Louise. He was looking at me and he was very agitated, but I never heard a sound from him. One moment he would be sitting on the bed, his legs off the right side and his feet on the floor. Then, he would be pacing up and down next to the bed, again, on the right side of the bed. Always gesturing toward me, seeming very upset. I was woken up at 5:00AM for meds and looked at the bed, it was empty. When we got our early morning cup of coffee, Elaine sat and looked at me and said, "I had the weirdest dream last night. I dreamt that there was a very angry man in the bed across from me". At this point I looked at her and asked her what he looked like. She said he seemed to be in his early 40\'s, average looking, with a slight stomach, a full beard, and short brown hair. I almost dropped my cup. That was the exact same man I had seen in my dream. I told her as much and told her about my dream. She then told me that the man didn\'t just pace up and down next to his bed in her dream, he walked to the bed I was sleeping in, but, in her dream, there was a dark haired woman in that bed (I\'m blonde) and he was fighting with her. Just as in my dream, she saw his gestures, but never heard a word he was saying. We found this both freaky and interesting. So, she told me she\'d ask her husband, Tim, if he could sense anything from that side of the room. When 15:00 visiting hour rolled around, Tim arrived. He walked to Elaine\'s bed, took a chair and put it so that his back was turned directly to the bed in question. This was before we had told him anything about the dream.

When Elaine had introduced me to her husband, she then told him about our dreams and asked him if he could sense anything from that bed. He then gave her a look and said "Why do you think I put my back to that bed?" and he proceeded to tell us that the man was still there, sitting on the bed. I asked him to tell us what he looked like, and he gave the exact same profile as the man that we had dreamed about. To say that I was completely freaked out, is putting it mildly. I hate hospitals; there is always a lingering feeling somewhere. Tim said the man was upset, he had died completely alone and he still waits for his family or anyone he knew to come see him.

By that evening, I was beginning to dread going to sleep, afraid that I would be having more dreams of the man. To my utter relief, a woman came in that evening, and, since it was the only open one, she took that bed. We did not have any more dreams of the man for the rest of the week.

I did however; have to have my drip reset the Wednesday night. It had infiltrated before dinner (which is 5:00PM) and my right hand was swollen and painful. The nursing staff finally got to me and reset the drip after 10:00PM that night. I am not a fan of needles and this was the third drip in 2 days, so, I am not ashamed to say I cried when they redid it. I finally settled down by 11:00PM and fell asleep. At some point during the night, I woke up, and heard the distinct sound of a metal bedpan clanging on our floor. However, no footsteps, no movement in the room. The curtain was still drawn between myself and Elaine, so I couldn\'t see past my bed. I decided, since I had had such a rude awakening, I might as well get up and go to the toilet. When I got round my bed and could see the space leading to the door, two things hit me. One, there was no bedpan on the floor; and two, the door was closed. I wheeled the drip stand along and walked to the door. Opening it, I was greeted with a dark, silent passage. The nurses were all at the nursing station down the hall to the right; no one was even close to our room.

I chalked it up to having an over active imagination, mostly due to the fact that I hate hospitals, but I still wonder...

When you next visit a hospital, if you are sufficiently forward in manner, ask a nurse if she or he has ever experienced 'other worldly' phenomena at work.

This story happened way back in 2006 in our residence here in Subic. I always knew that there were entities living here with us because my aunt Lyn, the youngest of all my aunts and uncles, has the ability to "see" paranormal things and she would always tell us that we are not alone in the house. When I was young I remembered the time when she woke up in the middle of the evening and would open the windows that look to the backyard (also our laundry area) and yell to someone to shut up because they were noisy. We live in a subdivision so it was awfully quiet so we were wondering who was she shouting at. She told us that there were people whispering and giggling and it pissed her off and they kept on going.

Aunt Lyn is married now and is living in Castillejos. After she stopped living with us she said that the backyard is where the most of the entities reside. The windows of the two rooms in the house look to the backyard and one of it is what I'm using now so I'm a bit scared. At first it was okay but this experience I'm going to tell made me aware that there is something in that part of the house.

I was alone at that time and I waited for Mom to come home since she went to a relative for a visit. There was a power interruption so I was bored because there was nothing to do. Normally interruptions like that are announced and are usually just clearing operations (sort of maintenance work) and they would return power before 5 pm but that lasted until evening so I thought it wasn't a planned interruption and maybe there was a problem (maybe a transmission pole fell off or something). It was already dark so I lit a candle and went to my room. I sat on the bed and rest my head against the window rail. The windows were open at that time. While I was sitting there waiting for the power, I was surprised because I felt someone flick his fingers (pitik, in Filipino) against my left ear. I looked out the window but it was dark so I didn't see who did it. It scared the daylights out of me so I ran outside. At that time only me and my mom were living at the house and no one was living next door. I thought it might be a thief who tried to come in (since I ran outside because I was terrified, haha) and stole something but none of our belongings were gone.

Mom came back and was surprised because I was waiting outside. I told her what happened and said what a manly coward I was (I'm a guy by the way, how embarrassing). That was when I remembered what my aunt told us about the backyard. I thought maybe it was one of those entities just playing a prank.

Not only did I experience things in the house but my older siblings as well and my other relatives who used to live here. But I will save those stories some other time.

Paranormal Category: Family / Friends Visits

Three years ago, when I was eighteen, my mother died because of a heart attack. No one saw it coming, so obviously me and my family were all terribly shocked.

A few months a ago I felt horrible and broke down. As I was crying in bed I started asking my mom for help. I wanted her to give me strength to help me get though this period in my life. I asked her to give me a sign if she was with me. That night I was just hysterical, nothing actually happened, but it was the first and only time I've ever asked out loud for my mom to help me.

A couple of weeks must have gone by after that when I started experiencing things I couldn't explain. About once a week I would get woken up by my bedroom door slamming, though the door is always shut when I go to bed. This kept going on for a couple of weeks, then it kept happening two or three times a week. Never really gave it much thought, except it being annoying, as I was sleeping.

Recently right after the (closed) door slamming I would hear footsteps on the floor in my bedroom right by the door. My bed is actually around a corner so I would just peek if anyone was actually in my room, but I'm the only one that's on this floor of the house and no one else is ever up here. A couple of weeks ago I was about to go to sleep and I got in bed and I heard someone sitting down in the office chair at my desk. Not some old squeeky chair, you have to really lean back into it to have it even make a noise.

These experiences definitly confirmed my feeling of someone being in my room. When I think of a spirit, I obviously think of my mom, but I completely forgot that I had even asked for a sign.

At this time I would also sometimes feel someone standing by my bed at night or in the morning. It would start with feeling a presence by the end of my bed or seeing a dark figure at night, definitly a human form, but if I'd sit up in by bed it would already be gone. It happened a couple of times, not every night. One day I even felt someone breathing over me and whisper incoherently.

Prior to this I had never experienced anything that could be paranormal, but I simply can't explain this any other way. Only a few days ago I remembered the night I broke down and asked for my mom to help me, and to give me a sign of her presence. Not sure where to go from here, if I should try to make contact with her now that's she has let me know she's here with me.

I used to think spirits didn't even exist but now I'm definitly taking it seriously. I know some of the sounds I described can sound very general, but I've never heard anything in this house as specific as these sounds and they are occuring after I had asked for them.

Loud door banging certainly feature in my own story 'Help! Love Karen' Tim Heathcote.

Granny And Little Boy Part 2

Country: South Africa
Paranormal Category: Misc

This past weekend, 6 to 7 October 2012, my friend Elaine, her husband Tim and their kids visited with us. Tim has been able to see and communicate with spirits since he was a little boy. It drains him physically, causing headaches, and mentally, but he says he cannot fight if they need to communicate.

I asked him if he could really describe Granny to me. The first time he saw her, he said she posed a very daunting figure and he was actually a bit afraid of her, even though she did not give off any threatening "vibes". He said she just seemed bent on staring him down, her arms crossed over her chest. He described her as tall and slender, with brown hair, that she kept tied in a bun at the nape of her neck, and he said she was a mirror image of my mother. I never knew about the bun she usually wore, my mom's sister gave me that bit of information on Sunday when I told her about what had been discussed, but I will get to Sunday shortly.

I then asked him if he had seen or sensed the little boy and he said no, the little boy did not seem to be there.

On Sunday, my mom and her sister were home, so I asked Tim if he would be open to telling my mom about what he was experiencing. Good guy that he is, he said yes. He again recapped Granny's appearance and, between my mom and my aunt, I do not know which one's eyes went biggest. He told them that my gran was telling him that she was looking out for her daughters, and that she had been on this side so long, she actually doubts if she can cross back to the other side. It does not bother her though; she wants to be where her girls are. He caught something in Gran's appearance and asked my mom if gran had known how to work on cars. My aunt answered that she had. Apparently, she could overhaul an entire engine by herself. He said he understood now why she had a black smear on her right cheek. At this, my mom piped up and said it could be soot from the coal stove as well.

He then asked them if she had injured her left arm that they were aware of. They mentioned that she had been holding the rod they used to lift the stove plates and lightning had struck the rod, causing some damage to her arm. He then said he understood now why she kept her arms crossed over her chest and only used the right arm to gesture with. He also asked my mom if she and my dad had had to decide between three houses before buying the one we live in now. She was astonished and said yes. He told her that the house had been picked by my grandmother and not by them. She either places herself in the foyer, so she is there when someone enters the house, or she stands in the topmost corner of the passage, right between my mom's room and my boys' room. She gave Tim the impression that she chose this position so that she could get to us easily if we need her.

Since Sunday night, my mom has noticed that when she forgets the fan on in her room when she goes to bed, the next morning the fan will be off. Concerned mother looking out for her daughter with severe lung problems. Way to go Gran.

Between my mom and my aunt they started thinking about places they had stayed where strange things had happened, and he could give them incredible detail of every house. He could give them names of people involved or living in the houses, and could tell them how the people haunting the houses were killed and what the inflections were the spirits remaining had. Whether they were violent, angry, pushy, etc.

My dad then had to say goodbye to drive back to Mozambique (he had been with us for the weekend) and my mom, Elaine and I escorted him outside. As with every time we have to say goodbye, there were tears. Elaine hugged my mom and me when my dad was gone and we all went back into the house. When we got back to our guests, Tim told me that the little boy was back and that he was very sad. When I asked him if he knew why the little guy was sad, he said it was because I was sad. He identifies with me. Knowing that the little boy was there, I asked Tim if the little boy had thought that I was fighting with him the day that I made the comment about the swings (I mentioned in Granny and Little Boy), and Tim said yes, he had thought so. I have come to talking to the little guy when I'm near the room he mostly stays in, and Tim told me he likes that I talk to him. He said that his mommy never talked to him and his daddy was away so much he hardly ever saw him. So being acknowledged really comforts him.

At one point Tim said he smelled something burning and he went into the house, when he came back out he told me he now knew how the little boy had died. He had burned to death in the room he stays in. Tim said that, even though he died there, he still feels very safe in that room. So he seldom leaves it. He does not mind if the door is open or closed, as it's his safe space. I have boxes etc stored in the room and I asked him if the little guy is ok with the stuff in there. He said he does not mind the stuff; he plays around it. I now feel like I have three little boys and not two, as I now am really aware of the little boy. It may sound funny, but I say good morning and goodnight to him and I say goodbye when I leave for work and hallo when I come home. I told him I promise I will clean the clutter out of his room this weekend and Tim said that the little guy doesn't want everything removed. He said I have to be careful of cleaning too much. Therefore, I asked if I should leave some toys in the room for him, and Tim said no, he never had toys when he was alive, he does not play with them now. It is heartbreaking to think of the lonely life this little boy must have lived, and I at least hope that we brighten his days a little.

Triden,
I love this account. It shows the side of spirits that are loving and playful. We don't have to have a scary experience to know they are around us.
I did want to mention something I read in the comments of the first story. I like Geetha's idea that perhaps she can help the little boy cross over. After reading this second part I think that is backwards. Perhaps he is there to help her cross when the time comes. She is unsure if she can go back on her own, so maybe...

hi aQua05:
Some days, it feels a little daunting. When my mom's chest acts up granny's presence becomes quite intense as she worries about my mom. I feel so funny calling her granny, she passed away when she was 32 years old, so technically mom looks more like a granny;) although, people broke into our house one night, and Tim says gran was the one who drove them off, so she can be strong and forceful if she wants to be.

The Pretty Girl from Your Ghost Stories

The Pretty Girl  By SkufuiS  (6 stories) (5 posts) (the author is a young adult)
Date: 2013-01-21
Country: United States
State: California
Paranormal Category: Haunted Places

My name is Christian and I am 24 years of age and currently work at the Comfort Inn & Suites in the city of Long Beach, CA. My job is pretty cool and I have been here for three years. It once stood as the International Inn.

This hotel has a hidden history and sometimes unregistered guests occupy these rooms. I can count 10 deaths in the time of my stay here as a boy. I knew half of them exclusively and strangely, I still do. The following entries are true reports from the employees of our establishment. The reports also consist of complaints of our guests that sadly are also true.

The Pretty girl (Courtyard)

Forth report: The girl by the pool

Not all International Inn nights as a boy were terrifying. There were plenty weekend sparklers where we kids in the Inn had our fun wars. Either with water balloons, toy action figures, pool fights, bike races, pizza parties or my favorite hide and seek in the dark. Life was new and open and the sky seemed higher. The world's problems only existed beyond our security gates. The hotel grounds, back then, had a lot of dark corners and plant life. Fitting for me to enjoy the vines and giant leaves as a perfect backdrop for my Lord of the Rings toy role play and jungle black operation missions. Speaking on the matter of soldiers, My uncle gave me his U.S. Army uniform but instead of stashing it away, It was my greatest weapon during Hide and Seek. No one could find me. I would choose the dumbest places and still would camouflage right into the dirt. It was an aspiring ninja's dream come true.

But one night as I disappeared under a bush, away from the other hiders that would give off my position, I saw someone across the pool leaning on the fence. Squinting my eyes through the branches I tried to make clear who it was. I have never seen her before and wondered where she had come from. She was thin and her black hair hung over her shoulders. She was in the shadow of one of the palms draping over the fence but I could see her pale face. She was very pretty but she looked disturbed. I climbed out of my hiding place only to be caught by the seeker. As I turned my head to where she was, she was no where to be found.

I seen her months later as I sat on a bench in the summer. I was drawing in my sketchbook and practicing my shading as I captured the pool area in ink. The girl appeared walking along the inside of the fence looking away from me into the pool. I stopped moving my pen and just watched her slide her fingers along the chain links. As soon as she passed the tree, she vanished.

The last that I had seen her myself was again on the same bench as before. A couple of years passed and it was right before we moved out of the Inn. My family lived in Building D that time and were the second to last of the tenants left staying at the Inn. Building A and B were completely stripped down. No walls remained and the doors were gone. It was sad to see the buildings that protected your life as a child stand as skeletons waiting to be completed. The gate surrounding the emptied pool was taken out. The pool itself was shallowed down from a deep 8'1/2ft to a childish 5'1/2 ft. I sat there on the bench in the night inspecting my old home when the girl arrived. This time she was watching me. She paced behind the wall that stood alone in the courtyard. I didn't see her pass the other side. I wasn't sure what to make of it.

I asked my mom if she could recall anyone drowning in our pool. She never did really like answering those questions. She'd usually brush me off and continue what she was doing. Yet she revealed to me that besides the boy and the diving board, there was a girl who drowned in the pool when she first started working there. She continued that the girl lived in the surrounding neighborhood and sneaked past the gate to swim with the guests. When we pulled her from the pool waiting for the paramedics, there wasn't anybody there to claim her. Since she didn't stay in the Inn, we didn't know where she had come from. Her brother came later that evening to pick her up from her swim and discovered what had happened.

None of the new staff here has ever seen her. Only I and my brother and the International Inn crew remember her. Perhaps she has passed on. I can only imagine that the filling of the once deep pool had remedied her disturbance. And that she is at peace knowing that what happened to her will not happen again.

Ghosts Gone Bad - Your Ghost Stories

Ghosts Gone Bad - Your Ghost Stories | True Ghost Stories | Scoop.it
Articles on GhostsGhosts Gone Bad

The premise of this article is that ghostly beings (human or otherwise) dwell on the other side and while there are garden variety good ones, there can sometimes be bad ones.

Bad is purely a subjective word, to some degree, but there are core components; power, greed, lust, and all things base in nature. A ghost gone bad is an engorged component of one or all of these. It is the succubus, the demon, or the legendary nightmare hag.

The succubus is caught up in sexual fervor; the demon loves the power over frail mortal minds, and the hag delights in torture and fear. There too are souls that while having shed their physical shell in death, bring to the other side the one thing they cannot readily shed -- the wounded or inflated ego -- hell bent on mortal suffering.

"Ghosts gone bad" is a scenario that happened to me for a period in my youth. Typical of many teenagers (especially these days), I was wracked with conflicting feelings: separating parents and a myriad of other negative emotions, which would attract such a ghost. I'm sorry to say I was playing with the Ouija Board at the time and having very impressive results-- so much so that Ị was later labeled a witch. But this portal, and my youth, beckoned something I had not anticipated -- a ghostly predator.

It took me some time to figure it out. Our pet Labrador wouldn't come to my room at night. It would stand at the doorway and growl at "something" inside. My father once heard screams originating from my room in the middle of the nightly only to rush in and find nothing but my sister and I sleeping. What was it? Had he imaged it? A year later my father left the family and this added unhappiness led to an escalation of the incidents. The room would grow cold; I'd become conscious in the middle of the night and feel fingers clawing at my side. My tongue seemed to swell inside my mouth (imagined or otherwise, it didn't seem to matter to me at the time) and I'd try to scream but my body was somehow a powerless prey to a force beyond my control.

You might say it was my imagination or troubled youth, which would be a logical conclusion, considering my father had left, but I invited friends over for their own investigations into this realm of suffering that had become my life. In one particular event, a male friend of mine came over and was quite cocky and sure that not only was nothing amiss, but even if I were there, he'd be the one to drive it out. I was very hopeful indeed, as I was so tired of the sleepless, frightening nights. I just wanted it over, if you can imagine.

So one evening when we had the house to ourselves, he came over to "investigate and propel" what he thought were the ghostly intruders. In retrospect, one can say it's one's ego over another, is it not? Regardless, he came to my home and was doing what I would call a very inexperienced exorcism. He would shake his fist, talk loudly at the room and say vehemently for them to go away. I could feel the energy do the very opposite - not to be quelled, but to boil. I actually grew quite frightened at this time and cautioned him, "Do you really know what you are doing?"

It later became evident that he did not. But when he left for home that night, I did not know this.

When he departed, I was amazed at the transformation. The place felt so amazingly pure and devoid of negative energies! I thought perhaps his exorcism had worked. My room felt great and there was no cold air. Nothing was hanging over me like a wet dank blanket. I felt freer then than I had in months. I said to myself, "It must have worked!"

My friend told me the next day that he had returned to his parents' house where he lived and went to bed for the evening. He was awoken in the middle of the night by a sound coming from his stereo. How and why would the stereo come on by itself? Then, as he tuned his ears to listen, the dials started spinning through the channels by themselves. He later told me chills ran up his spine. He did not know what was doing this but it couldn't have been any coincidence that he had just been to my house and attempted to exorcise ghosts.

Worse yet, when he lay in bed, virtually frightened into immobility, his closet interior came crashing down. The entire wardrobe was yanked to the floor with such a smash that his parents came running down the stairs.

They frantically asked him what was going on. All he could say is that he had just come from my house and tried to exorcize some poltergeists. You can imagine their concern.

In short, outside of school, he was no longer allowed to see me.

So what happened to that ghost that dwelled in my room? It returned very shortly and the pestering continued. I eventually moved in with a nice family and it followed me there too. It took awhile, but as I grew more positive it's hold over me weakened. It eventually disappeared altogether.

What Did She Want? from Your Ghost Stories

What Did She Want?By Dreamerxx(1 stories) (11 posts) (the author is a young adult)

My first experience started 10 years ago. We moved into a house (my husband and daughter). I will tell you what the house looked like so you get a picture in your head.

It was a terraced house and you go in the front door and you're in the front room (front door is on the right of the room). Straight ahead is the door to the stairs and then a door into the kitchen. At the top of the stairs, the first door is to the left that was my room, straight across is the bathroom and to the right of that was my daughter's room.

The first thing that happened was I kept getting woken up. At first I thought it was my husband waking me up (thought to myself must have been snoring) and when I asked him in the mornings, he said he hadn't and that he's never heard me snore. I just put it down to he must have moved and woke me up that way, and didn't think any more about it and I kind of got used to it.

The next thing to happen was a smell when I woke up I couldn't put my finger on what it was, but I would smell it when I got woken up. The closest thing I can get to describing it is it was like the sage and onion stuffing you put in your turkey but sweeter. Anyway, this happened for a while on and off, not every night but most nights. I woke my husband up once when the smell was strong and he said he didn't smell anything he just said, "It's your hyper sensitive nose."

It was getting to the point were I wasn't sleeping enough because I kept getting woken up, so my husband said he would sleep downstairs thinking it was him that was waking me up in his sleep, and for a week or so it worked and I was sleeping ok again. By this time my husband was enjoying sleeping on the sofa and he loved falling asleep watching the TV so he stayed down there and I had the bed to myself.

Things started to happen not long after that, things like my pillows were being moved. Sometimes they were on the floor or turned round and no one had moved them and my alarm clock would go off at stupid times even though it was set for 7.30am. At this point I was getting really freaked out so I got a new clock and the same thing kept happening so I got rid of it and got my husband to wake me up before he left for work.

My husband got up for work at 6.30am and would wake me up at 7.00am just before he left for work. One morning he didn't have to wake me up so he left me in bed, but I woke up at 7.30am needing to pee. As I was coming out of my room to go to the bathroom, I saw him go from the kitchen into the front room so I said down to him, "You're going to be late for work, Love." And he didn't reply so I went downstairs and he wasn't there. It unsettled me a little but just thought he'd gone before he heard me. When he got home that evening I asked him was he late leaving this morning and he said, "No, why?" so I told him and he said, "You might of been still half asleep. Don't worry about it." So I didn't think anymore about it.

This next bit I'm not sure about but it freaked me out so I'll put it in, in case it makes sense to someone. I started to see a girl around the age of 8/9 with nearly black long curly hair and she was wearing an old fashioned white pinafore dress over a grey dress. She never said anything never moved she just stood there in my bath looking at me, and it was the most intense feeling of fear I have ever felt. But it was a dream and I had this nearly every night and sometimes when it woke me up I was being held down with my bed covers and I couldn't move and that smell was always there when I was woken up by the dream. The dream was bad but the covers being held over me was really scary and I would cry out for my husband and he'd come running and tell me it was just a dream and I must of got myself tangled up tight in my covers (didn't convince me though). I know the difference in getting tangled up and having someone/thing holding down my covers so I couldn't move.

Anyway these things happened for the whole 5 years we lived there and when we moved it stopped.

Sorry it's a long story and I hope someone can shed some light on it for me. Was it the girl I kept dreaming about that was doing these things to me? It's baffled me for 5 years (that's how long I've been out of that house).

The Door Banging Ghost

This story happened when I was at a sleepover at my best friend's house. She lived in a condominium, and I was really excited as this was the first time I was going to her house. She lived on the eleventh floor, and when I looked down from her balcony, I could see the huge swimming pool.

Anyway, she said her parents were out shopping. She wanted to take a bath so I gladly obliged to 'look after' her home. "Make yourself at home," she said before stepping into the shower.

I took a drink from her fridge and switched on the TV in her vast living room. While I watched her Paranormal Activity 3 disc, someone banged on her door. Thinking her parents had gone back and had forgotten to bring their keys or something, I shouted, "I'm coming!" and grabbed the keys that were hanging on a hook near the front door. I quickly unlocked the door and opened my mouth to greet them, but there was nobody there. I slammed the door shut, thinking the Paranormal Activity had gotten in my mind. Just as I was about to return to the sofa, the banging started again! Irritated, I yelled,"STOP! I'm watching a movie here!" Miraculously, it stopped. When my friend came out from her shower, I told her the whole thing. "It happened ever since we bought this condominium," she said, shaking her head. "We'll either ignore the thing or ask it to go away."

Freaky much? She said no priest could banish the spirit, and anyway her family had gotten used to the banging. Maybe the poor spirit was doomed to do this forever. My friend says it's pretty harmless. "Once it banged on the door when a burglar was about to break in," she laughed. "We saw the burglar running away like a frightened chicken."

As It Happened

When I was 39 which was 13 years ago, I lived in a two storey brick house at Toukley new South Wales, with my husband, two teenage sons, a teenage daughter a 10 year old daughter and a one year old son. We believed that the house was built by and owned by an elderly Italian couple in the 70's or 80's, but they had passed on. It was a very nice house, but some strange things went on.

It was a large house with 5 bedrooms. All the strange stuff happened up stairs.

Well the first thing that happened was when my oldest daughter was staying over for the weekend, with her baby daughter she was 7 months old. Scott my youngest son was 12 months old his room was opposite my room upstairs. We had put the baby's down for the night when about an hour later we heard the most horrible scream we have ever heard before coming from the baby's room. We rushed in to find my son Scott standing up in his cot looking up at the ceiling, and my granddaughter lying down staring at the ceiling shaking. We were concerned at the time but all had settled down.

About a month later we had a few friends over. We were all in the lounge room when one of our friends asked what was near my bedroom door. It looked like a mist of some kind, like haze or fog about the size of a human. We all got up and went near it we did not know what to make of it. One of our friends put his hand through it, and he said it felt icy cold then it went away.

A couple of months later I was home with Scott. He was asleep in his room and I was up stairs watching TV. We had a large fish tank in the lounge room when all of a sudden spark's and flames started coming out of the power point It scared the living daylights out of me. I did not think much about the things that were going on until a short time after we moved out when the house burnt down. It has had me thinking ever since...

A Haunting?

My husband and I rented a small house in my hometown. I knew the couple who lived in the house many years before and the wife had died in the house and wasn't discovered for three days. They were kind, good people and knew me as a small child. The husband used to dress up as Santa for me. He worked with my father in a refinery. Now to the story.

Not long after we moved into the house I began to notice odd things. Items would be moved, the shower curtain would be pulled open or closed when I was fairly sure I had left it the opposite direction, soft noises like footsteps or floor boards creaking. I had a picture of Jesus in the hallway and it would never stay on the wall. I checked the nail, used a stud finder (it was a lightweight picture), and could never explain why it fell. I saw what I called dancing lights-small points of light that "danced" all over the house. Our dog would stand in the doorway of the bedroom and tremble and growl and he would not go into the room. I could not sleep in that room so we moved into the spare bedroom.

I was afraid to go into the garage to do laundry unless my husband was with me. I'm not sure why I was afraid but my palms would sweat and my mouth would get dry. A couple of times while cooking dinner I thought I heard a voice say, "Smells good." No one was home but me.

I became so frightened that when my husband went to work I would stay with my parents and come home when my husband got home. I never found any plausible explanations for the events. I looked to see if cars were driving down the street with their lights on when I would see the dancing lights. When the picture would fall I would run to the front porch to see if a large truck had gone down the street. I could not connect the paranormal activities with physical activities.

We stayed until our six month lease was up and moved out. I have never been a believer in the paranormal and am still skeptical but I cannot explain the strange events while living in that house. I've had no other experiences.

My 1920's House 5 Update from Your Ghost Stories

My 1920's House 5 Update from Your Ghost Stories | True Ghost Stories | Scoop.it
Read this fascinating true ghost story or share your own real paranormal experience!

Since I have last posted on here we have still been experiencing activity in our home. We have a shadow figure that often appears in the living room by the window or by the TV on the other end of the room. I have these tall half door size windows that open in like a like a door and a person can fit. But the shadow is on the inside and nobody is there!

I have called the Ghost Hunters TAPS and the West Coast TAPS came out to investigate last November. It was pretty exciting! We weren't on TV; that is the East Coast crew of TAPS. But a crew of like 8 guys came out and set up cameras, motion detectors, auto cams and EVP's and flashlights, voice recorders and set up the monitors on their computer outside in my front yard. It was free and they stayed until probably 6-11PM.

It was a quiet night up until 9 PM. The guys were outside and only one was inside to use the restroom. He was talking and trying to get a response by saying, "Now is your chance to talk to us and we can hear you." Then he said as he was walking out of the bathroom into the hall he heard a whisper, a little girl said, in his ear "No, stay, don't go."

So he came outside and told the others and a couple went in and set up the flashlights. They put one in my entry way and one in the kitchen and then sat in the living room and asked questions. They did it just like the show and the flashlights went off and answered them and they said it was a little girl.

Then they switched up teams and the next two guys said they were taking to an older woman and the little girl wouldn't come out. Then they switched again and the girl came out to talk again. They asked if she knew what happened she said no. They asked if she wanted to know and she said yes, they told her and they said it felt heavy and sad.

One of the guys was in the living room and he saw the shadow and it came up on him so he freaked out and got up! They didn't catch much on film. They said it was little and they lost it in all the hours so I didn't get to see. Darn it. But they did say this house does have paranormal activity!

So they say yes there are spirits in my house two and maybe more! Which I do know a family lost their daughter while living here at 8 years old in the 1930's so it could be her and her mom or grandma or maybe another woman not related we don't know.

I have had many experiences in my 35 years. This is the one that sticks out in my mind. Even though it was so long ago, I can still see it like it happened a few days ago. Perhaps because it is the scariest thing that has happened to me.

Back in 2001, I was laying on my couch with my dog. I was alone in the house (actually it was a mobile home). I was just watching TV and relaxing when something seemed to pull my eyes to look at the wall.

I saw what started out looking like a very light black shadow just there, on my white wall. The longer I stared at it, the darker and bigger it became until it just looked like a black cloud just floating there. I kept staring, as I couldn't take my eyes off of it. It was like I was hypnotized or something. Then, I swear I saw eyes slowly appearing, they as well got darker the longer I stared at it. The eyes looked like bright sapphire blue flames with black cat pupils. The longer I stared at it and watched, the deeper and more angry looking the glare from this entity became. And it was looking right at me! As I looked at it, I was frozen with fear. I really felt like I couldn't pull my eyes away.

Needless to say, once I snapped out of this hold it had on me, I grabbed my dog and ran out of that house and refused to go back in until my then boyfriend came home. I have had quite a few sightings & experiences in my life, this by far was the scariest one.

I am so glad I found this website, because I have a few stories that I can't just share with anyone and it feels good to get it out and not have people look at me in disbelief, finally!
