Chile’s Best Hiking Trails

Chile’s Best Hiking Trails | Trekking | Scoop.it
Certainly one of Chile’s most incredible features is its geography. Andean landscapes, a long and beautiful coastline, deserts to the north, temperate rainforests in the south, and the great unexplored expanses of Patagonia are all captivating options for those who want to shoulder their backpacks and disappear for a few days.

A notable government initiative named Sendero de Chile is designed to improve access to 50 signposted trails across the country, including a map and access to heritage areas of unique attraction and value.

Below is a small selection of trails from the almost-endless options, which themselves leave much of terrain undiscovered.

Back to Nature: 13 Of The World’s Richest National Parks | Trekking | Scoop.it
One of the first mentions of a national park came from William Wordsworth in 1810. Looking out over England’s Lake District, he commented that it should be a “national property in which every man has a right and interest who has an eye to perceive and a heart to enjoy.”

It wasn’t until 1872 that Yellowstone — widely considered the world’s first national park — was officially established in the United States. Today, there are an estimated 6,555 national parks worldwide. Here are 13 to get you started.

The Colorful Trips of a Lifetime

The Colorful Trips of a Lifetime | Trekking | Scoop.it
Call me a color freak but I'd rather think of myself as a sophisticated connoisseur of tone whose world is not built of prime colors but defined by firebrick red, mint green, misty rose and indigo. The nature is a visual feast of shades and the Architect has painted the world a myriad of hues to caress your senses, stir your mind and inspire your artistic soul. So go for it and don't trek the world passing the simplest of beauty unnoticed. Sharpen your senses and embrace the variety for you surely deserve a life in Technicolor.
