Advice from 30 year old me to 20 year old me — The Human Condition — Medium

I recently turned 30. For some very odd reason I’ve not warmed to the idea of it just yet.
Alexander Kluge's insight:

1) Travel:

You have very little responsibility so go and travel. When you get to 30, you’re going to want to travel slightly differently, spend a little more, do slightly more expensive things, eat at slightly better restaurants. So work for a year and save enough money to experience the world on the cheap.

How do you know what you want to do if you don’t know what’s out there to do?

- Don’t just travel to the obvious places.

- Travel to the tough places.

- Travel to learn.

- Travel to discover.

- Travel to the places that will challenge who you think you want to be.

2) Build things

5) Career: Do not take that corporate job. Just don’t do it.

7) A few people will change your life forever. Find them.

8) Value Time: Do not be late.

Travelhacker

Alexander Kluge's insight:

Young lady Marcela Fernandez from Colombia explaining her travelhacking approach as her passion and lifestyle.

Currently located in San Francisco with a program called UnCollege (http://www.uncollege.org/) she'll travel to South East for 3 months in order to apply the project "Zero Food Waste" (www.scoop.it/t/zero-food-waste).

Also being part of the program The Journey Network (http://journeynet.net/) Marcela helps connecting travelers with wise people (called elders) and other travelers from around the world. The purpose is to build a real-life learning community for purpose-driven journeys in life.

Moreover she wants to travel around the world with "one" ticket, as seen on http://travelhacking.org/.

How to Travel the Travel 3.0 Way

How to Travel the Travel 3.0 Way | Travel Light + Work Hard | Scoop.it
Travel 3.0 means that instead of being sequestered in comfortable digs at resort hotels away from the local and indigenous people you are supposedly visiting, you get out of your comfort zone and engage in authentic, challenging and participatory ...
Alexander Kluge's insight:

"Travel 3.0 is about learning and growing empathy and understanding about the world in which we live and travel."

"Travel 3.0 is also radically different in that it is about allowing serendipity. It means that instead of just passively sight-seeing, travel becomes more hands-on in highly participatory site-doing experiences."

In short: Authentic, challenging, participatory.
