The Monument to 1300 Years of Bulgaria, also known as the Founders of the Bulgarian State Monument, is a large monument built on a plateau above the city of Shumen, Bulgaria. It was built in 1981 to commemorate the 1300th anniversary of the First Bulgarian Empire.

Shooting seascapes using long exposure techniques and ND filters is my favorite. The Bulgarian Black Sea coast offers amazing spots for practicing this type of photography. At least two of our itineraries include locations suitable for practicing this type of photography. The practical lessons during the photo walks will include information, tips and tricks and variety of photo techniques.

The International Mummery Festival ‘Surva’’, the largest carnival event in Bulgaria and the Balkans.
The 23 th edition of the Festival will take place in Pernik (30 km far from Sofia, Bulgaria) in the end of January 2014. The Municipality of Pernik has been holding the festival ever since 1966.
Vitosha is a mountain massif, on the outskirts of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. Vitosha is one of the tourists symbols of Sofia and the closest site for hiking, alpinism and skiing. Convenient bus lines and rope ways render the mountain easily accessible. The territory of the mountain includes Vitosha nature park that encompasses the best known and most frequently visited parts. Almost all of our photo tours start from Sofia, which gives an opportunity for visiting Vitosha for nice photo sessions there.
Tyulenovo is a village and seaside resort on the north Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, part of Shabla Municipality, Dobrich Province. It is famous with its spectacular rock formations and sea panoramas. The place is included in some of our sample itineraries.
The photo-walks and tours in Bulgaria and the Balkans also include lectures, discussions and some practical lessons on digital post-production using Photoshop and Adobe LightRoom.
Lake Beloslav is a liman, which connected by the navigation canal with the Lake Varna. Before the canal was built the lake was freshwater, but now the water is brackish. The place is very convenient for waterscape photography.

The abandoned bridge near Shabla, Bulgaria is an extraordinary photo object, also for the bird watchers and photographs. The place is home of hundreds of sea birds.
This seascape photograph was taken in Balchik, a Black Sea coastal town and seaside resort in the Southern Dobruja area of northeastern Bulgaria. The town sprawls scenically along hilly terraces descending from the Dobruja plateau to the sea. Two of our sample photo tour itineraries include Balchik. The area offers perfect spots for seascape photography.
Some of our Bulgaria and the Balkans photo tours include a visit to Ormanli beach on the Turkish Black Sea coast, not far from Istanbul but closer to Bulgaria. We will be able to swim (if the weather allows) and enjoy the beautiful stretch of sand there. For those interested in a more intense adventure, we will walk along the beach to a shipwrecked vessel and back (a total of about 8 km). This is a fantastic subject for photography, though it will require some physical effort to reach it.
Although Kamchia beach on the Bulgarian Black sea coast is not part of our sample photo itineraries in Bulgaria and the Balkans, the place is worth visiting because of the stunning nature and endless possibilities for seascape and landscape photography. The place is about 30 km south of Varna.
