Analysis: In the decade since "The Matrix," film narratives have become more conventional and directors are more interested in mimicking classical cinema than charting film's future

I agree that moviemakers aren't pushing the narrative form as much anymore. Even in video games I find the same kind of lull in storytelling has been around until recently. One great example in experimental storytelling is the mobile game from Super Brother's "Sword & Sworcery" EP http://www.swordandsworcery.com/
