La pregunta que se nos impone por el momento será la siguiente: ¿Qué es lo que se entiende por el sintagma: Los nombres propios? La respuesta es más fácil. Pues, la enciclopedia Wikilengua la favorece definiéndolos así: “Los sustantivos llamados nombres propios son una subclase de palabras que solamente designan, sin significar, e individualizan a las personas o elementos designados. Por ejemplo, Martínez, Himalaya designan a una persona y a una cordillera respectivamente, individualizándolas”.

La distinción entre designación sin significación (nombres propios) y la designación con significación se ve claramente en ciert
