Gain A New Perspective

Most of us have a pretty good idea of what other people need to do to improve.   We all have great insights to see the short-comings in the way many other people operate.   And probably a few of us have said at some point in our life, “If only Mary or Joe or that department would (fill in the blank), my job could be so much more effective, my life could be so much better, etc.   Highly effective companies seem to use a different approach.

Michael Bremer's insight:

They start with what do I need to do to improve more effectively, before worrying about what someone else needs to do.  What do I personally need to do?  What does our department (team) need to do?  What does our company need to do?  Before focusing on other people, other departments, suppliers or customers.  There is power in gaining a new insight and a strong sense of freedom!
