Introducing Poll Everywhere

Poll Everywhere lets your audience interact with a live presentation using their mobile phones. Ask them questions, or have them ask you.
Anne Marie Cunningham's insight:

We have an educational license for PollEverywhere in the School of Medicine and can get you started quickly. Please get in contact with the eLearning team if you would like to try it out.

We are using this technology in the School of Medicine - it is more flexible than the "clicker" systems as it allows a variety of multiple choice and free-text interaction. In Cardiff it will only run properly when set up on a laptop that is connected to the AV systems. The pooled computer systems don't (yet) support it.

Screenr | Instant screencasts: Just click record. Screenr’s web-based screen recorder makes it a breeze to create and share your screencasts around the web. Just click the record button, capture your screen & voice, and share the link.
Cardiff University School of Medicine C4ME's insight:

With screenr you can make screencasts up to 5 mins long very quickly and easily. You can then share these to YouTube or download the video file. It's easy to make a screencast to show a student or colleague how to do something. Have a look at the video above.

One of my previous screencasts - shows you how "scoop" a webpage. The updates have made it look a bit different now, but it still works in the same way.
