Natan Amos's curator insight, December 13, 2015 11:01 PM

All businesses before they actually become businesses need to ask themselves an important question. That question is who is their main target audience? Once they answer who they are trying to target then they need to know a few things about that specific group of people. That is where this interesting article comes into play.

It mentions the different forms of technology each generation uses. That should be looked at by businesses to make sure that they are able to provide information for every device such as apps for the phones and tablets as well as properly functioning websites for the desktops  and laptops.

It also mentions how certain generations are likely to be on the computer at certain times so timing out correctly notifications and emails you want your target audience to see is very important to take into consideration.

Why a Content Engineer is Vital to Your Content's Health

Why a Content Engineer is Vital to Your Content's Health | Social Media in Manufacturing Today | Scoop.it

I have a six-year-old son who is convinced he is going to be an engineer. His vision of the future is fueled by Lego, Magna Tiles and an assortment of chemistry sets we do while I close my eyes and hope we don’t blow up the house. Just the other day he said to me, “I don’t want to be just one type of engineer. I want to be all the types there are — structural, mechanical, chemical.”

I didn’t tell him there’s now another category — content.

I’ve been using the two new live streaming apps, Meerkat & Periscope since they came out and for as much as these live streaming mobile broadcasting apps have taken over the conversation in social media, many still are skeptical and even have gone as far as bashing them without even testing them out.  With that being said I’ve worked with brands of all sizes and in all industry’s on how they can embrace video for social engagement and brand storytelling. El #socialmedia de un #profesor lo que puede y no puede hacer

Tony Palmeri's curator insight, October 25, 2015 10:48 AM

I chose this resource because they way teachers use social media has been a sore spot for many in our building. I support the idea of using social media in a professional construct and I feel that it is a powerful tool. However, even in teacher circles I've witnessed far too much negativity and I'm not sure that those individuals understand that the toxic nature of some posts are doing much damage to our school culture (and the community perceptions). I'm shocked to find that some teachers continue to use some social media to converse with students in non-academic affairs. It is truly not a good idea. I think this resource would be great to distribute during PD that occurs at the beginning of a school year.
