Educational Leadership: Professional Learning: Reimagined: Rethinking Classroom Observation

Educational Leadership: Professional Learning: Reimagined: Rethinking Classroom Observation | to read | Scoop.it
A Different ApproachTeacher-driven observation addresses these problems by empowering teachers with a classroom-embedded process to refine their instruction. Through teacher-driven observation, teachers engage peers in gathering and analyzing classroom data—data that speak to the unique context of their own classrooms. This approach has demonstrated potential to meaningfully improve instruction and student achievement..Existing approaches to observation generally serve the observer. Teacher-driven observation flips this approach, placing the observed teacher as leader and primary learner in the observation process.

Onderzoek werpt nieuw licht op taalvermogen

Onderzoek werpt nieuw licht op taalvermogen | to read | Scoop.it

Helping the Student with ADHD in the Classroom: Strategies for Teachers

Helping the Student with ADHD in the Classroom: Strategies for Teachers | to read | Scoop.it
In a standard "sit-and-git" classroom, students with ADHD can have little outlet for their energy. Therefore, considerations for students with ADHD often emphasize incorporating physicality into the classroom. This article offers many techniques for working with students with ADHD, including productive physical movement, active v. passive learning, and timing the duration of tasks to best assist students with attention difficulties. Even students who do not have ADHD benefit from these environmental and instructional considerations.
