Here’s how the process could work: A student successfully completes a MOOC, like Coursera’s Social Network Analysis, which will be taught this fall by Lada Adamic, an associate professor at the University of Michigan. The student then describes what he or she learned in that course, backing it up with proof, in a portfolio developed with the help of LearningCounts.org or another service, perhaps offered by a college.

Sad to see the authors have only one perspective on who does the designing (and why) for MOOCs ... they make it sound like a conspiracy plot rather than the hugely diverse and multifaceted movement it truly is. The authors start with a premise in mind then use the passive voice in a key introductory statement: "MOOCs are designed to impose, not improved learning, but a new business model on higher education, which opens the door for wide-scale profiteering." This leaves us the readers imagining that there is some higher power manipulating the strings behind each and every MOOC offering.  Thus, the group of community college profs (for whom I have an undying admiration and affiliation having spent more than a decade teaching in a community college) imagine they need to jump in front of a "...  vaunted train of progress that many of us see as nothing more than a repackaged Taylorism for academia."  Wow, as if community college curriculum - crafted almost completely by state legislators determined to "smooth the transition" from high school and create a 13th and 14th grade - is not already there without MOOCs?  This is too simplistic for me to believe they really mean it...

Beneficios colaterales de los MOCCs. Me gusta la reflexión. Las conferencias y los vídeos no imparten todo el conocimiento necesario. Google y los foros de discusión entre estudiantes (el efcto Red) son la principal fuente de aprendizaje.

Han servido los MOOCs para que los profesores se replanteen la pedagogía de los cursos online?. Por lo menos parece que se detectan algunos movimientos en este sentido.
