In my poster for the HEA Flexible Learning conference I presented these key points for good practice in building learner participation in web-conferences.

 

Establish a schedule for tutorials/workshops that allows for maximum participation

 

Prepare for tutorials/workshops and become familiar with the tools being used

 

Ensure that the learning environment allows learners to interact

 

Use learning activities that engage and interact with learners

 

Encourage learners to communicate with each other as well as with the presenter

 

Provide recordings so that learners can access content wherever and whenever suits them
