Increase In Alternative Fuel Vehicles Doesn't Mean That Drivers Are Using Less Gasoline

Increase In Alternative Fuel Vehicles Doesn't Mean That Drivers Are Using Less Gasoline | Selling More with Great Content | Scoop.it

Because you can put gas in flex-fuel vehicles, and because you can't find ethanol anywhere, just putting clean cars on the roads hasn't meant cleaner emissions. Governments and corporations--big entities that have to move a lot of stuff and people around--buy a lot of cars and use a lot of gas. He explores the notion on Harvard Working Knowledge, developing a topology of six levels of leadership, from sociopath to transcendent.

Walmart to open 300 stores in food deserts

Walmart to open 300 stores in food deserts | Selling More with Great Content | Scoop.it
You live in a town where healthy food is not abundant. You choose food unwisely. No healthy alternatives even if you wanted to be healthy. Well, First Lady Michelle Obama has used her bully pulpit to encourage Wal-Mart to fill the gap.

Wal-mart is a powerful force in American communities of all sorts and sizes, and their leadership is at it again. They announced this week that Wal-Mart will open up to 300 new locations over the next five years in so-called food deserts. These areas throughout the country lack healthy food options and Walmart is capitalizing on its brand and partnership with Mrs. Obama to eradicate these areas. The idea was spearheaded by Mrs. Obama will serve 1.3 million people, according to an article by Fast Company, and account for an additional 218 food desert stores that Walmart has opened over the last four years. Walmart is catering to those neighborhoods who have no real option when it comes to fresh produce and unprocessed foods. At the same time, Walmart will be nearly guaranteed to be the biggest grocer in these locations because competition is just about nonexistent in these areas. The company already makes up 25 percent of grocery sales across the country and we can imagine that percentage will only increase once the final 300 locations open.

China to Wall Street: The Side-Door Shuffle

China to Wall Street: The Side-Door Shuffle | Selling More with Great Content | Scoop.it
There seems no shortage of people willing to take advantage of others. This time, apparently some Chinese companies that entered the US stock market, using reverse mergers to quietly take over. And then lost billions for the US shareholders who did not see the real line of ownership.

At issue now is who should bear responsibility for the bursting of yet another Wall Street bubble. Should it be the Chinese executives and their bankers, who engineered the deals and celebrated these companies? Or should it be the investors, who bought these stocks when, in hindsight, the risks seemed clear enough? The lawsuits are flying.
