Omar Elmessiri's curator insight, October 27, 2016 7:55 PM

I agree with Kevin page about preparing your marketing strategy for 2016. Marketing has changed significantly over the past couple of years. At first marketing usually use to happen in Newspapers, Televisions and Radio. It was harder to analysis the market and keep track of certain data as well. however, as of 2016 technology has changed the game completely. The first preparation method is Analyzing the current situation. This is important to determine because a brand must know where they stand in the market in comparison to their competitors. Every business must know how much money they have on hand, what are their unique strengthens, weakness, opportunities and threats they possess and encounter. By determining these aspects, a business can then start implementing strategies and techniques to attract customers and beat competition. The second preparation method is refining and reinforcing buyer personas. This is important to keep track of because every organization wants to keep their customers. It just depends where the customers will see their ad and if customers change their method of knowing about a product, an organization must be able to reach them in that certain area. For example, I use to see ads for various companies on magazines and newspapers. However, over the time I switch to social media for the latest product. So companies such as Nike and Quicksilver started to implement social media strategies. The third preparation method is setting goals for 2016, which is essential to every business because they need a vison of what they will do throughout the year. They must have a plan to launch certain products in certain months, so customers can buy it.  For example, every year in September Apple launches a new iPhone which customers will buy. After a couple of months, they launch a new IPad or MacBook , so they have a goal to launch products throughout the year. Goals for a given organization might be that they want to increase sales by 5% by the end of 2016 or decrease supply cost by $100,000. It all depends on what the vision of the organization is and what they want to do in order to beat competition. The fourth method is developing marketing campaigns and tactics. The basics of marketing comes down to campaigns and tactics in order to attract customers. With a strong campaign and tactics, a business can beat competition because they have implemented a unique strategy unlike there competitors. However, with a weak campaign and tactics, a business will be beat by competition and customer will not buy their products. The fifth method is set a marketing budget; this is important for every business because they must know how much they want to spend on advertising their products. Without a marketing budget, an organization might underspend or overspend on marketing which will either result in loss of money or decrease in customer purchases.  However, by having a marketing budget, a business will know how much they want to spend on Newspaper ads, commercial ads, social media ads and billboard ads. This will eliminate any misunderstanding for the organization and will have a cost efficient spending method as well.

6 Blog Promotion Best Practices for Social Media

6 Blog Promotion Best Practices for Social Media | The Twinkie Awards | Scoop.it

Let’s start by saying:

There’s a right way to self-promote on social media, and there’s a wrong way.

The question is: which side are you on?

You have your hard work done, and you want people to notice it. That’s understandable, but why waste all your time and effort taking the unethical or ineffective approach?

If you want to get people to go to your website and read your fresh content, take the time to research and act accordingly.

These 6 blog promotion best practices will help you get the most out of social media and develop the presence you need to make an impact for yourself and your blog.

This article gives many great tips to help you to a better blogger.

Ted Perlmutter's curator insight, October 6, 2015 8:22 AM

The six points should be clearer that doing your research means understanding the network of folks who you are trying to "sell", regardless of whether it is product or ideas.  But the idea of having a plan and giving credit to those who you are seeking to interact with is advice that will never lead you astray.
