Free Technology for Teachers: Quickly Edit Audio With the Online Audio Cutter

Online Audio Cutter is a free tool that anyone can use to quickly adjust the length of an audio recording. Online Audio Cutter can also be used to add fade-in and fade-out effects to your audio files. Online Audio Cutter can be used with files that you upload to it. If there is a YouTube or Sound Cloud clip that you want to edit (remember to use Creative Commons and Public Domain content) Online Audio Cutter can work with those files too. Just paste the URL of the YouTube or Sound Cloud clip in order to edit it.

"I’ve been getting requests from people since April about the iPad apps I’d recommend/like/use on a semi-regular basis. This list is somewhat targeted at librarians, but I use mine in so many ways, some of my personal usage apps come into play, so anyone can utilize this list.

I’ve organized it by different types of apps and also identified prices of apps if there’s a cost involved. The prices are good as of today, but may change. Finally, throughout the list, I’ve identified my top ten favorite apps."--Heather Braum

Bloom's Revised Taxonomy describes many traditional classroom practices, behaviours and actions, but does not account for the new processes and actions associated with Web 2.0 technologies, increasing ubiquitous personal technologies, or cloud computing.

After installing the app you will see a Read & Write tab appear at the top of your browser window whenever you have a document open in Google Drive. Those of us who are transitioning to Common Core standards know that text complexity will affect the rigor in our classrooms. The Arizona Department of Education (ADE) issued a letter informing us they will increase the text complexity as well as higher Lexile levels on the current AIMS test this year to help transition to the PARCC assessment. This means we need to understand what text complexity is and how to address it right now, regardless of what grade/subject we teach.

A great resource for history/social studies classes or English Language Arts/Reading classes to put a book time period into perspective for students. Select a year and view videos from that year. You can select sports, video games, commercials, current events, television, movies, and music from that specific year. Amazing tool!!!
