3 Yoga Poses for Tired, Achy Feet

3 Yoga Poses for Tired, Achy Feet | The Real World | Scoop.it
Try practicing these moves at the end of a long day after you kick off your heels or heavy boots.
Luz Gonzalez Lopez's insight:

I really liked this article because it is something different from what I usually put like media, politic, economic stuff. Today I want to write about one person, I have decided to write about yoga and how it helps relax ones own feet. This article was not only interesting be a big warning sign to me because I constantly walk back and forth in campus that I never sit or lay down until 11 or 12 at night. I learned that yoga is a method of relaxation and exercise at the same time. 3 yoga poses have taught me to take care of my feet and to take good advantage  of them in doing yoga. In my opinion every pose is a new startegy in viewing yourself in a different perspective. How? It changes how we view ourself physically, mentally and emotionally, but the change depends in the individual.

Women Dominate Social Media [INFOGRAPHIC]

Via Angela Watkins
Luz Gonzalez Lopez's insight:

I thought this article, more like paragraph and statistics clearly demonstrate the total amount of women taking over social media. I clearly understand that women have a higher rate then men because women tend to be emotional and they want sympathy from other women/girls for having issues, misunderstandings in their love life and personal general life. In my personal opinion I have experienced with my girlfriends dealing with things in their relationships whether good or bad. The rates for females are also probably higher because women/girls LOVE taking selfies. To me I would of expected a higher results than men. I find it normal.

Does your music reveal your politics?

Streaming music service Pandora says it can predict your politics by the music you listen to. Laurie Segall reports.
Luz Gonzalez Lopez's insight:

I really thought this video was interesting because it describes that music on Pandora can be revealing on your political status whether you are Democrat or Republican. I believe that music can demonstrate an individual perspective of life, but not your political status. Political Ads shouldn't be send on Pandora to vote for someone to anyone that is strong only because they live in a place were the status is strong. In point of view living in an area were a certain political status overpowers the other, it doesn't mean that particular voter goes for that status. I really learned and enjoyed from this video.

Wadhwa: How social media changed the world
Newsday
When Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg launched thefacebook.com in February 2004, even he could not imagine the forces it would unleash. His intent was to connect college students.
Luz Gonzalez Lopez's insight:

I thought this article was interesting because not only did Mark Zuckerberg made a difference in media but huge connection in the things that are going around the world. The new generation won't have to be going through the "old fashion" way like Zuckerberg went through. We society not only recognize this change but support it as well by using it whether we just have an account to Facebook. We have social media in a click of a button, we practically carry with us everywhere we go. Every age has been influenced to use this program even if just to take a quick glimpse but we know we can depend on it. Social media has changed the world, in my perspective we can use any way we want, but it is up to us to make that difference a better one.

Peeing in the pool: So wrong -- and bad for our health, study says - Los Angeles Times

Peeing in the pool: So wrong -- and bad for our health, study says
Los Angeles Times
Besides being disgusting, peeing in the pool may be seriously harmful to your health.
Luz Gonzalez Lopez's insight:

I found these aritcle to be very useful and interesting because this a big issue in a communities pool. Now that summer is getting closer and the school year is coming to an end, citizens should be aware of this conflict. People mostly children urinating in local pools or even home pools are things that shoudn't be done. The article states that urine, chlorine, and other chemicals can cause harm to your health. I agree with this article because we don't know what can happen if the pool water contains lots of urine. In my personal experience, my local pool always checks the water if it contains urine. What the life guard does to check is take a bit of water into a small tube and add a certain liquid. If the pool water contains urine the water changes into a dark color because it contains urine. Citizens should go through the process of waiting for the pool because people urinate in it. I believe that people should respect and let others enjoy the clean safe water. Especially in summer days.

Florida woman forced to use city utilities instead of private solar ... | The Real World | Scoop.it

Luz Gonzalez Lopez's insight:

This article caught my attention wit the simple title it has labeled, I have never seen a state with a city require their citizens or community to use the "cities utilities' for energy. I think this is  cruel in a way that they are taking their citizens rights to choose their energy source. Anyone in any state/city should be able to pay their energy source with the money they BARELY afford. I think that it is ridiculous that the consequence is evicting the lady the out of her own home. There could be many reasons why she has private solar panels, she should n't pay for what the city wants her to pay especially because they are (maybe) not giving her any money.

A Plan to Save More Newborns in 2014 and Beyond

A Plan to Save More Newborns in 2014 and Beyond | The Real World | Scoop.it
In 2014 newborns the world over will receive the much-needed attention they need to live and survive. Drawing on all of the great work from last year starting with the Global Newborn Health Conference held in Johannesburg last April leading up until now
with the draft of the Every Newborn Action Plan newborns and their survival worldwide will be top on the global agenda as the year progresses.
Luz Gonzalez Lopez's insight:

This article brought my attention because having a plan to save more newborns is horrible to hear/ read about. I mean if someone has a desire to become a parent or it unexpected for most teens, good care should always be in mind even if the parent doesn't want the newborn. I am disappointed in the fact that the percentage of children death is increasing because of newborns , but as well glad to know that there is a plan to save more babies. I like  the article demonstrated some strategic objective to support the baby to live longer. This issue should be put to attention to society and the importance of  their lives of  these babies! We are their voice.
