If customers were really asked what they think about big brands, I'm sure they would say the same things as Tracey Parsons. 


"It should be all about me. And you always make it about you. We would break up, but I do need to eat food and get places; I also like smelling nice. So, we continue to do this dance. But know this, you cannot control my attention or “own” my email address. We aren’t in a relationship. I see you try really hard to disrupt my attention. And frankly, it’s making me mad. So, when I need you, I will find you; until then, get lost." (emphasis is mine)


But since customers are not really asked, the dance continues...
