Streaming is becoming the most popular way to listen to music and the revenue needs to be increased. Although it's different from radio play, in that there aren't a multiplicity of active listeners simultaneously, the amount per play needs to be increased to help artists continue writing music as a career.

Daily Mail is a reliable source of news that has been around for a long time. This article shows an event that is leading things in the right direction. Artists receive very little money for streaming their artist and since it's seldom that people buy music anymore, this is the main income for many artists. Taylor Swift pulled all her music off of Spotify in protest of this, not because she needs the money, but to help others. This a step in the right direction of events that need to be taken to help change streaming for artists. Streaming is new and she feels that her music should not be part of an experiment.

Billboard has been the go to spot for music insight for as long as I can remember and is a trusted sources. This article makes you wonder what is going on and what is next. After digital downloads soared over the purchasing of physically CD sales, hearing that digital music sales decreased for the first time can be alarming. People don't want to spend the money on an album or song like they used to be willing to do and it's leaving record labels and artists to receive pennies for their music.
