"On Christmas Eve, Michael Thomasson, 43, officially became the owner of the largest video game collection in the world. That was the day Guinness World Records released its Guinness World Records 2014 Gamer’s Edition, in which Thomasson’s 10,607 games is officially recognized in a two-page spread."

Mr Thomasson is a prime example of the level of depth the video game industry has pierced the culture of most first world countries. As technology continues to grow and expand, more individuals are purchasing new, more advanced video games.

Official PlayStation Used Game Instructional Video - YouTube (Digital Advancement)

Step-by-step how to lend games to your friends. http://www.playstation.com/ps4
Jay D Edwards's insight:

The satire step by step official guide to lending games on PS4 was created by Sony as an Anti-Xbox one marketing campaign. The Xbox one when first announced had originally planned on following EA on not allowing users to lend games, making one copy console specific. This idea was immediately disputed by the community at large in much the same way as EA, leading to last minute changes to the Xbox one prior to it's release. The future of console development will largely be controlled by the community which will lead to games and products being tailored to the average user.

Jay D Edwards's insight:

Games Radar's Atlas Burke cites the newly announced steam box as an unlikely potential competitor to console monopolies Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony. Despite mixed reviews by a number of criticts, the steambox and steam OS will change the way people purchase games and consols by adding more choice. Previously PC only games will be available on the Steambox as well as all new and old Steam titles. The steam box will bring Indie games directly to the tv screen where they were previously limited to PC-only (with some high budget Indie games making their way to xbox and Play station consoles).
