The Fundamentals Of Web Design

As the instructor of a web design class, I feel it's my duty to share some pertinent information with you out in there on the internet. If you're reading this, you're probably interested in learning some of the fundamentals of web design. I can definitely help with that.

David Taing's insight:

There are two ways to get into web design. You can either learn basic HTML and CSS (and this is not too difficult) and work through web design templates, or you can get really in depth with coding language to build your own sites from scratch.

Here's the thing. the first option probably sounds pretty good, but if you're getting into this to make money, then you want to go with the latter option. People pay big, big money for you to code websites for them. Web designers charge for their skill level and time. If you want to make big money like them, you have to go the coding route.

But there is a lot to be said for going the easier route. If you only want to build your own website and then maintain it over the years, then learning to work with templates is perfectly viable. After taking some easy courses you can learn enough HTML and CSS to edit templates to your liking. In my courses I also teach how to use FTP, whether program or web based, which is what you need in order to upload your web pages to the internet. Very few domains are going to let you interact with their servers without using an FTP program.

Essentially, web design is very easy to do. Today it's easier more than ever, thanks to simple templates that use drag and drop techniques. If you've been wanting to get into web design, now's your chance!
