Obama: I Want People To Feel The Same About The Next Internet Breakthrough As They Did About The Moonwalk

Obama: I Want People To Feel The Same About The Next Internet Breakthrough As They Did About The Moonwalk | The DREAM Act | Scoop.it

Obama spent a considerable amount of time preaching to the choir at today’s Facebook Town Hall event, first bringing up Intel founder and Hungarian immigrant Andy Grove as an example of the kind of immigrant the US should be focused on retaining, in a response to a question about Immigration Reform and the Dream Act Education.

Obama mentions how the founder of Intel was an immigrant and how the U.S. should retain more like him by passing the DREAM Act while at a Facebook Town Hall event.

I think this shows that anyone can make some sort of breakthrough without being a legal citizen of the U.S.

This Article is about how Obama wants Congress to pass the DREAM Act. It also mentions who usually gets deported and why.

What get's to me is how some oppose because they say "it would provide amnesty for lawbreakers", i think that this is for the children of those "lawbreakers" that are being giving this opportunity of a better life. It was not there choice to come into America illegally so why should they be punished, they have not committed any crime. The whole process of the DREAM Act is not easy and can only be accomplished by those who really want it. So why not give them the opportunity?

Colombian singer-songwriter dedicates song to Dreamers

Colombian singer-songwriter Andres Useche has written a song in support of the DREAM Act, a legislative proposal that would provide a path to citizenship for some undocumented immigrants who came to United States as children. Useche, who now lives in Los Angeles, first performed the song in January during a statewide conference for Dreamers in Texas, according to his blog.

“The DREAM Act would save many undocumented young students from being deported and allow them a chance to give back to the country they grew up in, the country they love,” Useche wrote in his blog. “I am in awe of the DREAMers I’ve had the honor of meeting and I am constantly inspired by their efforts to better themselves and society as a whole.”

Useche is best-know for co-directing and performing in a video called “Si Se Puede Cambiar,” which he released in support of President Obama during his 2008 presidential bid. In 2010, he also wrote a song and directed a video in response to Arizona’s immigration law.

This article expresses Mitt Romney opinion on the DREAM Act that was all over the television. It mentions what the process that young immigrants would have to go through in order to work towards attaining citizenship.
Many latinos have expressed their opinions and spoken back about Romney's comments, and they are having an effect.

What I found the most interesting in this article was how Romney later on claims that the act has an exception that he could live with and that is a young person signing up for one of the military services. Really? He doesn't mind that their are illegal immigrants in the U.S. as long as they are willing to die for a country that doesn't really welcome them?

This is one of my favorite sites and articles. It has many blogged videos that are on YouTube about the opinion of an undocumented guy named Jesus. He makes little skits about how not being a legal citizen can be awkward at times and I feel like this is a great way to get the DREAM Act out there. It makes many interested in knowing what is going on and getting them to see how life is difficult for immigrants.
