10 Edtech Tools for the Flipped Classroom

10 Edtech Tools for the Flipped Classroom | The DigiTeacher | Scoop.it
The traditional model of teachers lecturing in the classroom and students completing practice and homework on their own is changing. Instead, students are learning on their own and using the classroom as a place to dig more deeply into what they’ve learned. This model, known as the flipped classroom, is gaining popularity thanks to the rise of EdTech. How does the flipped classroom work? Students watch lecture videos or complete readings at home. The following day in class, the teacher clarifies anything students didn’t understand. Students then collaborate with the information to answer questions, complete projects and do other activities …

How & Why Educators Should Use Revision History in Google Docs | The DigiTeacher | Scoop.it
One of my favorite features in G-Suite tools is "Revision History." This features allows you to see what changes were made, when, and by whom. It's a powerful tool, especially in education. Are liberal arts more valuable than STEM learning?

Are liberal arts more valuable than STEM learning? | The DigiTeacher | Scoop.it
A liberal arts education that focuses on a broad range of topics, and is not vocationally-centric, is a bigger asset to today’s students than other trending tracks like STEM learning. That’s according to author Fareed Zakaria in his new book “In Defense of a Liberal Education.” Zakaria argues that the central focus of a liberal arts education is writing, and that “writing makes you think.” In an interview with Forbes, Zakaria had this to say about his stance: What a liberal education at its best does…is to allow people to range widely, to read widely, to explore their passions…I think …

8 Basic Steps Of Project-Based Learning To Get You Started - TeachThought PD

8 Basic Steps Of Project-Based Learning To Get You Started - TeachThought PD | The DigiTeacher | Scoop.it
The process of designing and implementing project-based learning can be fairly complex. A big part of that complexity is the shift toward inquiry that uncovers learning as you use PBL to flip Bloom’s Taxonomy. With that said, it’s often helpful to break this process down into basic steps to help teachers and schools get started with the caveat that PBL planning and implementation is not a simple, linear process. Readers should keep in mind that some of these “steps” can occur simultaneously as the reality of the messiness of learning and planning for deeper learning kicks in.
