As noted in a number of recent market research reports (Canadian Business Sustainability Challenges 2012; Unilever’s Five Levers for Change; RILA’s 2012 Retail Sustainability Report), communicating the benefits of sustainable behavior so it...
Emily Zhang's insight:

I agree with this article. Customer communication is very important when applying to a various industries and even it can directly influence to consumer behaviour. In my point of view, an effective communication can help creating a sustainable business. If hear from customer's wants or thoughts, even complaints and acted on, this will build a strong brand loyalty and creates the brand a positive image.

In order to effectively achieve this, a business must clearly know what their ideal consumer needs and to find the most effective way to communicate changes to the consumer such as newspaper, TV, email, billboard, website and more. Because people like to buy the product they want and especially when a particular brand they usually buy.

Therefore, communication is very important as it helps the brand marketing to attract more customers and also helps to make the customers feel that they are important to the company.

Emily Zhang's insight:

I agree that "content is king, but creativity has become prince." Both are key in creating a successful way to effectively communicate with consumers, so when marketing to the consumer, a company has to know what the consumers want.

In today’s advancing technology and increasing level of people readily using and have accessed to the internet on a verity of devices has established a growing bombardment of direct marketing and online advertising, when consumers watch ads which are too long they often lose interest and do not get to fully understand what the advertising is trying to portray.

Vine is a useful app by Twitter that allows users to create and upload short video clips. The service was introduced with a maximum clip length of six seconds and can be shared or embedded on social networking services such as Twitter and Face-book. Therefore, vine will be more creative and straight to the point, as the time limit is very short could help companies more easily to spread their message to potential customer. So I believe that it is a good PR method for companies to be able to engage with their customers.

I believed that a short advertisement could be effective for a company, but might not be all. An effective advertisement needs to be able to transfer the messages that the company what to tell their consumers for their product or service, an advertisement would be useless if it fails to do this. Every company should design an advertisement that suits their own products and services in order to successfully communicate their messages to their consumers.
Cen Xun's comment, September 23, 2013 3:06 AM
this article introduced a social media app called Vine, this app sames very useful. because 6 second ads is so short, but people absolutely could watch them all and its a good time to show the creation of a brand. and I also agree Emily's quote "content is king, but creativity has become prince." especially during the social media marketing times.
Matthew Pivac's comment, September 26, 2013 12:12 AM
The above article brings to light the use of short form advertising through an application or 'app' named Vines that is made up of six second videos created by the user and streamed out to the world. This form of advertisement is very relevant in today's fast moving world of technology, as people's attention is constantly being fought for in the world of advertising and therefore the short videos will attract and get the viewers full attention to it's content and the user will fully receive the message.

I agree with the article with the fact that direct marketing is more and more important nowadays. Direct marketing removes the "middle man" from the promotion process, as a company's message is provided directly to a potential customer. It helps consumers to understand more about the company's product or services, and also allows companies to communicate with the consumers directly either with emails or on platforms like Facebook and Twitter.

In advertising, create information that customers find interesting and worth talking about. Samsung is very effective at this effective marketing strategy.
Emily Zhang's insight:

This is a great article that leads us to think about a variety of effective marketing strategies.

In advertising, create information that customers find interesting and worth talking about. Samsung is very effective at this effective marketing communication mix. According to this article, we could see that Samsung knows well its target market, most advertising campaign are aimed to young adults.

In this advancing society today, most young people all like new technology and have a psychological predisposition to buy latest product to reach his or her personal goals, so Samsung shows how new and advanced is the product in their advertisements to attract and catch the young consumers. I think this is the reason why Samsung Galaxy S4 becomes a hot product in current phone market. Also, the Samsung s4 launch used the communication mix very effectively. They used simple messages illustrate their strong value propositions. Only 4 words that their audience can really connect with and used pictures and music to keep the audience interested.

-Convenient

- Fun

- Relationships

- Care

This would be impressive and influential. Moreover, I think Samsung Galaxy S4 was really creative and attractive in creating an effective advertising for companies.
