My Errant Teenager

I have survived 4 teenagers (including 2 girls) and am very proud of them and myself. Yet I may not survive the 5th. Yes the big U reminds me so much of raising teenagers. You may laugh be hear me out. As adults we can see the potential in our teenagers – just as we can see the potential of the ultranet. But they, and it, still put up a fight. Teenagers are unpredictable… as is the Big U. Everything is going along nicely and then poof! It all goes astray. Case in point – Online PD tonight on uploading content - working beautifully then when you are relying on it, it collapses and refuses to work Teenagers react differently depending on the situation as does the Big U – Chrome works most of the time, Firefox some of the time, IE not often……but don’t rely on it! Teenagers don’t communicate well…. neither does the helpdesk. Teenagers do things their own way… so does the big U. It works today but not tomorrow and occasionally on Thursday… There are days in a teenagers life when you see all the good in them… And there are days when you wish your teenager was !!!!!!! The same with the Ultranet. Teenagers’ moods change at the drop of the hat…. so does the Big U…use Chrome to upload, Firefox to add videos and IE for logging on but do NOT use IE9. There are sure to be more similarities but it’s getting late and I have been coping with this “teenager” for hours now so I am pooped! So I am going to bed to recharge in the hope that I can cope with my errant teenager again tomorrow! I will try to sleep well because as a mother of teenagers, I am sure that I will lay await thinking, wondering and worrying, all to no avail, as a new day brings something different again I loved my kids as teenagers and now as adults love them even more. It was an exhausting, testing, exhilarating and terrifying time of my life but seeing them grow into their potential was and is a privilege. I am just not sure if the behaviour of my new errant Ultranet will allow us the same.
