Sport readiness in children and youth

Sport readiness in children and youth | Children and athletics benefits ? | Scoop.it
Anissa ABBAOUI's insight:

This document say that physical activity is good for children of all ages but sporting activities must be developmentally appropriate for the child  because the enrolling children in sports that are beyond their developmental ability can lead to frustration and early dropout.

So it should be knowledgeable about the child’s developmental level when assessing his or her sport readiness.

That is why this document develops what is beneficial for children according to their age and stage of development.

I think this article is valid because it's on a web site for doctors (US National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health)

Paediatric biomechanics and motor control : theory and application - Catalogue

Anissa ABBAOUI's insight:

This book is the first book to focus on biomechanical aspects of child development.

The book is divided into four main sections, looking at biological change during motor development; force production; the biomechanics of postural control and fundamental motor skills, and clinical applications of research into paediatric biomechanics and motor control. So it is interesting because I could see how children develop biomechanically and what is good to better develop this

It is valid because it is written by a team of leading experts in pediatric exercise science, biomechanics and motor control.
