The amendments

 In these posts I have found articles about amendments 1,6,19,and 22. The first amendment is the right of free speach and freedom of religion. Amendment 6 is the right to a trial by jury. Amendment 19 is the womens right to vote. Lastly amendment 22 is the limit of two terms per president.

No More Second-Term Blues

          This article shows the effects of the twenty second amendment on today's presidents. It describes how the term limit can effect the actions of a president. Their predetermined 'firing' after the second term can really change their effort and mindset when making decisions for the country. The  article states that George Washington wasn't trying to set a precedent of terms during his presidency. The article argues whether the twenty second amendment is or should be effective.

Jury selection finnished today

       This article shows that the sixth amendment is still being used today, since it says that they have been selecting random citizens of the United States. Specifically in this case they have just selected 40 jurors, but before they were made to be jurors they were asked some questions about hardships in their lives since that may influence them in the trial.

Freedom of Religion shown today

          In the news they are saying that turkey is such a good role model when it comes to the equality between religions. In Turkey they have many religions and they are able to show off their religion any way they can without being wrongly punished for it.In many ways What they do in Turkey is the same as what we do her in the United States.

The 19th Amandment is the right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation

It's weird seeing how a simple right for women changed many things. I can't believe how big of an issue this used to be, and now thinking about it, how much of a privilege it is that I got to vote in the recent election.

         Commending the 90 years of women's voting rights, this article discusses many women who made this right possible. It describes each of the women throughout the years that dedicated most of their time to see this dream become a reality and all of their accomplishments. The article reminds American women that the 19th amendment is not something to be taken for grantid today.

twenty second amendment part 1

         This article shows that we still use the 22nd amendment today and that some people in the United States want to change the amendment. More specifically they want to change the amount of terms a president is allowed to be relected for. Or this could be taken away altogether so that the president can serve as many terms as the people want him to.

Trial by Jury part 1

        The show Law and Order imitates the sixth amendment which says that everyone has the the right to a trial by jury. It shows that with a jury in your trial can help you. For exampl with a jury the Judge is not the only one deciding your fate. it is only fair that there is always a third imparticial party to help decide whom is guilty.

The First Amedment is vital for Success

Many citizens think that the bill of rights are very important to life as we know it. MOre specifically, freedom of speech is vital for success they say. The freedom of speech, found in the first amendment is very important to these citizen because it lets them state their opinions aboout certain things without be punished for what they say, but only too a certain point can they say what they want.
