This article is about girls getting drunk and having sex occasionally not prepared and unprotected and it finishes with them going to have a baby and every so often pregnant with SDI/HIV. This is a big problem in today's society; girls shouldn’t being going out and getting drunk like that and thinking it is okay. It is bad for the child that they may have and it is bad for the parents of the teen.

This article is talking about rising the legal age to drink because studies show there are no sensible and responsible teenage drinkers. I think this would be a sensible idea but it won't stop teenagers drinking! and a teenager i would like to be able to drink at the age of 18 and not be punished for peoples irresponsible choices towards their life and others.

"ALMOST half of teenage girls admit to binge drinking regularly, a survey has revealed."

This artical is telling you that almost half of teenage girls are admititng to binge drinking regulary. More younger girls are drinking at a young age even at 11 years of age, this would have somthing to do with there oerents and how they are brought up in moss cases. It's extremly wrong for young teenages to be binge drinking it impacks on the rest of there lifes.

Alex Lavalle's curator insight, May 21, 2013 3:00 AM

A survey has revealed that almost half of teenage girls admit to binge drinking regularly.

The editor of "Girlfriend Magazine" Erica Bartle, said that images of celebrites that are drunk outside clubs is sending teenagers the wrong message.

Drug and Alcohol Research and Training Australia undertook a survey and found statics showing high percentages of teenage drinking.

This article is very useful in that statics were shown and an editor of a magazine company had her person opinion.

I was shocked when I read this article. Needless to say, binge drinking is not a cool thing to do. However, there are still many teenagers binge drinking in Australia. Those celebrities have the responsibility to show a positive image to teenagers. This article is related to our topic as it is about teenage binge drinking. I like this article because it showed a lot of data.

stephanie shalala's curator insight, May 19, 2013 2:36 AM

This article talks about the rate of teenage sex while under the influence of alcohol. It shows numerous statistics of how teenagers are having sex more commonly these days, which can lead to unwanted sex, unwanted pregnancy and the spreading of STI's and HIV's. It is said that infections among young adults has risen in the past 10 years, this is concerning as I am a teenager and would hate to be in any of these situations as I am sure many would. To prevent this we need to look after ourselves and make good decisions, making sure we have good protection such as condoms, which can help prevent us from unwanted diseases.

thomas chadrawy1's curator insight, May 20, 2013 9:35 AM

this article, i find, is quite distressing, as although the kids in year 10-12 are much better informed than in previous generations, they blatantly ignore the information that has been provided to them and continue to engage in unsafe sex under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

i would have thought that as awarness about sti's are higher, so too would be the preventative measures, such as condom use, but according to this article, this is not the case.

breedennis's curator insight, June 1, 2013 10:00 AM

This article talks about the rate of teenage sex while under the influence of alcohol. Doctors say that most of the unprotected sex and the spreading of STI/HIV are because of year 12 students drinking and having no control over what they are doing. Although drinking boys can take disadvantage of females which can lead to unwanted sex, unwanted pregnancy and the increasing of STI's and HIV's. I think this is all so wrong and everyone should use condoms all the time while having sex.
