The Rationale Behind Soaring App Development Prices | Technology Startups L.A. | Scoop.it
During the last quarter of 2014, we were approached by a funded startup based in Boston to identify an app development company to build an app for their European launch.
Jennifer Beever's insight:
Interesting article about the opportunities for app developers. This quote summarizes it: "In mobile, the action is in Asia. Established mobile development studios in the US should look at South Asian markets to expand. This will allow them to catch the upside of growing local markets and at the same time, hedge against the cost arbitrage of their competition from Asia."

Why ‘Millennial’ is Meaningless for Social Media Targeting

Why ‘Millennial’ is Meaningless for Social Media Targeting | Technology Startups L.A. | Scoop.it
Millennials span 20 years, because two decades is approximately how long each generation lasts. In the past, this also tended to correspond with the periods of major technological innovation, but no longer. Innovation is moving at a speed never seen before, and, as a result, technological trends are shifting greatly between groups of people only a few years apart in age.
Jennifer Beever's insight:

This is such a great article, in which Evan LePage points out that "millennials" really break down into several social media behavior groups because tech innovation is moving faster. Colleen Legzdins is the inventor of technology that has the potential to be disruptive in the treating of industrial waste water.
Jennifer Beever's insight:

This is a fabulous read. Change the name of your high fiber cereal from Hapi Food to Holy Crap (based on customer feedback, LOL) and sell ten times more at the farmer's market and millions as you grow. Call a Los Angeles restaurant breakfast sandwich Eggslut (I would sooo order that). Or change your fans' name HVLS (hi volume, low speed) to Big Ass fans and adopt a mascot - a donkey named Fanny - around which you build your marketing. Or a company about to abandon their commercial scaffolding business for residential renos puts a larger banner up that says Mammoth Erections just for fun and the phone wouldn't stop ringing. Let's face it. People are bored. We want fun and entertainment!
