A Scientific Guide to Hashtags: How Many, Which Ones, and Where to Use Them | Social Media Today

A Scientific Guide to Hashtags: How Many, Which Ones, and Where to Use Them | Social Media Today | Technology | Scoop.it

When they ask, I tell them that hashtags are a pound sign immediately followed by a keyword. They're used for categorization on social media. Yes, they can be annoying if overused. And yes, I've seen the hashtag video of Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake.

(from the Curator of IoT & Wearables) Oh thank the engineering gods for this one, or was it an engineer who simply innovated this solution because they were tired of the crappy status quo design?  I'm thinking it was the latter.

Bonnie Burns's curator insight, June 12, 2013 3:12 PM

Starting Wednesday, hashtags on Facebook will be clickable — much like those on Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and Pinterest — and clicking on them will bring users to feeds of related posts by other users and pages. Users will be able to search for hashtags via Facebook’s search bar, click on hashtags that were shared from other sources, and compose their own posts directly via hashtag feeds and search results.

Still in conceptual stage, but assuming goodness on the technology itself, this would be huge, and disruptive to the market of scuba tank / rebreather apparatus.  But do not add Wi-Fi since when I dive I want to enjoy the undersea world in peace and quiet

Forget aluminum. In the not-too-distant future you could be carrying around an iPhone made of Liquidmetal. A recently discovered patent suggests that Apple could be experimenting with ways to manufacture a smartphone made entirely of this material, which is twice the strength of titanium!

Unscratchable case plus sapphire glass that's another good reason to switch to the iPhone 5S!

Travis Haggerty's curator insight, July 18, 2013 5:04 PM

"We are going to see Apple launch a phone with the most ideal case material in the world, and potentially see the company introduce a sapphire crystal screen, which is also the most ideal material in the world".

Are we going to see the best Iphone yet? I wonder what the price tag will be

François-Xavier Schaeffer's comment, July 19, 2013 4:18 AM
If the iPhone 5S will include these new materials. I terribly hope so... I assume the price will remain the same. It's part of the iPhone pricing strategy.
