Second screen viewing, which refers to using an additional electronic device while watching television, is a consumer behavior that can no longer be ignored. In fact, one might argue that second screen viewing has become a widespread phenomenon that has altered the way we watch television.

Companion screens, advertising and the ACR option | Videonet

Companion screens, advertising and the ACR option | Videonet | Technology, Advertising, Communication and the business of Creativity | Scoop.it

Companion screens could impact the advertising-based television model in two ways. On the downside, as an ad displays on the primary TV screen, the viewer turns away to the smart phone or tablet. The potential upside comes from supplementing the first screen with related content on the second.

Two main technics are used to sync the content for ad insertion : Automated Content Recognition (ACR-Fingerprinting) or Content Information Service (ie metadata inserted along the signal). Both have their benefits and downsides and should coexist in the future.

Technology is destroying our ability to pay attention, making us rude

Technology is destroying our ability to pay attention, making us rude | Technology, Advertising, Communication and the business of Creativity | Scoop.it

Technology is addictive and it’s making us terrible at our jobs. It’s not your fault though, it’s part of our evolutionary wiring.
That’s according Excite founder and Google Ventures Investment Partner Joe Kraus. He argues that the more access we have to the internet the more distracted we’re becoming.

Flexing Your Mindfulness Muscle with Meditation

Flexing Your Mindfulness Muscle with Meditation | Technology, Advertising, Communication and the business of Creativity | Scoop.it
Meditation is simply being consciously aware of your actions, thoughts and feelings. Meditation builds your mindfulness muscle. And, unlike food choices, there is no right or wrong way to meditate. You just have to do it! For me, becoming unconstricted, more joyful, and more successful began to float into my lap like a feather once I committed to a daily meditation practice. That is to say when I committed to dedicating twenty minutes in the morning and twenty minutes in the evening to clearing and calming my body and mind.

What matters for CEOs ? Innovation, customer, collaboration and values

What matters for CEOs ? Innovation, customer, collaboration and values | Technology, Advertising, Communication and the business of Creativity | Scoop.it

IBM recently published the new edition of its famous CEO Study, after having interviewed 1700 CEOs from all over the world and all industries on their stakes and concerns. If the results won’t surprise anyone, two things are worth being noticed. First is that some questions are now on the desk of the ultimate decision maker and not only a matter for those who report to him. Second is a roadmap seems to be emerging to, finally, switch from concerns to action.

Few celebrities, if any, can match the online passion the world has for Lady Gaga. It’s off the charts. Yet of all the amazing things people see in her the one that strikes me most is her ability to be weak, so that others feel strong.
